bag drops

Post by adebola »

surely under the doing the job properly campaign when we return to work wednesday, we should tell our dims that we refuse to have pouches dropped at unsafe drops ( and there are many of them). Then the driver would have to drop to time like years ago, after all thats doing the job properly.

I stopped doing this about 2 years ago. Youre leaving yourself at risk by having unsafe drops, RM love you to do this until one gets nicked then theyll tell you how irresponsible you were to leave bags unattended and take you down the conduct code.

Your dom is responseble for all bag drops so its their job to check that their safe or not.If one then does go missing its then down to them.We had a big thing in our office about this and that was the outcome.

Unsafe drops

Post by mailjock »

I hope no one tells their local paper about unsafe bag drops - I mean it would be terrible if the paper were to go along and take pics of these bags - be interesting to see how local managers explained the safety of the mail criteria with a local journalist.

Not that I would ever encourage anyone to try and make mail safer by anonymously drawing weaknesses in our system to the public's attention through the use of the media who will no doubt be interested in postal stories at this time.

how could a manager conduct you for doorstepping a packet when they know that often the whole delivery has been doorstepped, apart from your first bag a thousand or so letters and packet every day in convenient pouches to pick up and take away.

There was a TV programme highlighting the use of casuals, insecure bag drops, theft of mail etc - once again no one was brought to task - even though managers appeared to be incompetents.
