as a rep in a small office i feel that we have been badly let down we have been told that we would hear this Monday that Monday any day that suits dave and his clowns us reps have passed on the union line had the p*** taken out of us by staaff my office would have out as one in November but now theirs not a hope we will go out there be one of two of us who will from my point of view rm has run rings around the cwu us reps do this jop as well a postie jop in offices our size dave and co will have a lot of work to win us back and the deal better be good or the union will be in trouble

All these cry babies wanting to leave the union go head we don't want members like you bet you won't turn down the pay rises or give up your holiday SA payments or your six weeks AL or maybe give up your sick pay with your shift allowances hypocrites and cowards

Maybe I've miscalculated and the union won't be concerned about their finances they'll just up the ante for the remaining members

Yes correct done deliveries unlike today if I went in early I booked docket five years on delivery granted it's harder today but still done my time

In my time at Royal Mail you used to pick a duty and do it. It's that simple. Are you telling me now you pick a walk in say Perth and then you go into work and the manager says I need you to do a walk in glasgow so off you go. Or is this agreement part of your contract which you signed when you started work and took a job with the company if so I don't see a problem as long as they pay you your travel or provide transport..

I won't leave the union but it would be nice if we had some options when you originally join.
For example: do you agree to payments to a political party? Nope so minus 50p per week, do you agree to a greggs loyalty card for union bosses? Nope minus £3.2 million per year
I can understand everyones frustration when money's getting so tight and you hear of union bosses getting paid out for unused holidays and being paid a wage us poor folk could only dream of, while our pay rise barely cover the union dues.
I will wait its just driving me crazy I just hope all this waiting isn't a massive let down and another shafting for delivery staff.

Yes

Though I would argue Glasgow is not a nearby office - also they do pay travel expenses and travel to and from is within duty time.


As has been said if you haven't done deliveries in the last 5 years you wouldn't think it was the same company from back when you did deliveries.

Perth to Glasgow is highly unlikely as the amount of work that could be done would be minimal and the cost of transport would be prohibitive.
We did one Saturday morning have someone from Largs do a duty in Glasgow.
The taxi there and back must have cost a few bob. (The taxi account - there's something to remember)
