Dave Joyce CWU National Health, Safety & Environmental Officer.
I expressed my serious concerns about how we as a business deal with the risks associated with Workplace Transport and I think its time for a thorough review of Workplace Transport Safety and Yard Risk Assessments at the earliest opportunity."

Royal Mail were fined £200,000 following the death of a pensioner who was run down and killed in the yard at Bridgend Delivery Officer and recently a Prohibition Notice was served on Royal Mail at Seacroft Delivery Office in Leeds over Workplace Transport safety standards following an accident when another member of the public was injured. A member of Staff was seriously injured at Middlesex Distribution Centre following a Fork Lift Truck accident. Additionally, several Improvement notices have been served during the HSE/LA programme of Delivery Office Inspections.

I am trying to research it but wasn't there a story earlier this year about a postie being killed on a Royal Mail loading bay. If I remember he was crushed by a reversing truck.

I have a walk in the office where a block of flats has no fire exits inside only outside of back balconys for residents, this means the postie or tradesman is basically in a wooden chamber death trap with only 2 concertina lifts, after kicking off about it to my rep i was told i could give the mail to the caretaker or if he was nt in take it back, is there a card in the frame? is it in the walk log is it FCCK

No one wants the walk as its so cak so casuals and newies are always put o nit risking their health, aside from area H&S rep who else can I alert to get some momentum going over this?

you could try your local fire station long shot but it's worth a try
