Some of us remember going from earning £40+ a week for D2D to earning like £15 a week after the last agreement and the union negotiators apparently made out this was a good deal, so there is reason to be apprehensive.

The last one wasn't (2010), and the top table wouldn't even send a full copy to individual members.
I hope this time it is, and every member gets a full copy on which to base a decision.
I for one will reserve judgment until I have read it.

What worries me is how did the position shift from no deal to deal in a couple of hours?

As long there is something to benefits delivery postal workers and their workload need better balance and increase of pay and something to improve D2D money.

So from No Deal to Deal in a couple of hours. To me it suggests the union have reluctantly accepted it, which doesn't bode well.

I have a sneaky feeling that the membership will not vote this deal in.I for one will not vote it in if there is any talk of extending deliveries.And i will also not be istening to the union saying give it a yes vote,i will read the agreement and make my own mind up i just wish every member did the same instead of ticking the yes box because they want any carrot that has been dangled.

I fear your wrong. I would say most the members in my office are pretty apathetic about the fine details of any deal, apart from a pay increase. I have little doubt they will vote YES to anything that gives them more money in the shortest possible time.

We will have a deal when the members endorse it. Yet again I expect to see 'Securing the future of the Mails Business'; 'The Way Forward'; 'Business Transformation 2010 & Beyond'. As with all of the above expect a voluminous document that most members will not read apart from the parts that deal with:-

a) Pay

b) Their current job

As a Rep I've had to try to implement aspects of all of the above (and more) for twenty years, all have major flaws BUT they were endorsed by the members. My major concern is whilst with the above (even BT 2010...not my favourite) there was an understanding amongst the membership of what the Union was seeking. There may be aspects of any new agreement that have not even been discussed. If there is indeed any new proposal (and I like everyone else don't know), will we yet again rush to ballot the members and then regret that the 'Deal' wasn't quite what we believed. There is always room for discussion but on a deal that will affect almost the entire Postal membership of the Union it must be vital that the maximum number of MEMBERS get the chance to listen to/comment on a deal that will basically affect the rest of their careers in Royal Mail Group.

Yes thanks DINGO many have called you but I know you about things you had no control over again thanks! So it's a deal well I hope we have a say on this as of today serious things are happing in delivery and not for the good! It remains to be seen if this deal will resolve any of these problems or exacerbate them time will tell as the 2010 deal made the whole deal worse for all can this agreement heal the wounds or is it more band aid for first aid!
