Talks continued tonight after the pec decision we now have an agreement more to follow in the morning !

I'm just waiting for the punchline. Something along the lines of "oh wait, it looks like they might not be going out for 15mins anymore, they're having extended talks tonight after tea"

why humble pie ?. lets see the agreement first as its only taken over 7 months to sort out.
i hope its the agreement we all want and need,if its not then its back to square one.

My gut feeling is that of one where we were last week - i.e delivery's not sorted but 'plans/future strategy/cut the heads off a chicken see how fast they run will be collated in 2014 with a view to make the workload easier... At which time RM will be looking at introducing new tech and a 'WCM Parcels Division' to assist with the parcel side of the business - in other words - as you were.

Looking back at the last few months, RM were always going to concede a bit on the pensions/pay/ and job security so I think those elements were done in the first few weeks.

Things that worry me into 2014 are: Delivery agreement & the 'alternate discussion methods' other than striking - which basically means although never the case of an all out strike in the future - the ballot will be harder with more legalities to crosss & tick.

Anyway - above my take on what I see.

Thanks to Dingo for drip feeding the forum, I can appreciate a hard position to take the flak but in all honesty, other than what you have provided - The union has pretty much not said a word of note to it's members during these negotiations

if theres no leniency from the business on there crazy delivery schedules then the rest is irrelevant as anyone out on the street will be run in to the ground literally
