The way flexibility will hit us delivery staff the most is when its very busy we wont be able to cut off, and when people go sick or are on leave we will have to cover it without overtime pay if we go over. Also the 2hr rule also will apply to us.

If any thing this has sent a big voice to Gordon Brown and his underlings at RM - "WE DON'T TRUST YOU".
If we had faith that the flexi system would work and work fairly we would all be back in work. But the fact remains Management at ground level abuse the system to the max.
It sends a message that we will not agree drop everything and rush into work for no extra pay at the behest of ill trained power hungry managers buck passing there mistakes onto an already hard worked workforce.
We will NOT be slaves to the system and have no life out side Royal Mail.
We will NOT pay for the mistakes of past and present government for stealth taxing our pensions.
We are human beings NOT mindless automatons that Royal Mail want us to be.
We do work a full day and want fair pay.
WE WILL STAND FIRM - AND SEE THIS TO THE ONLY CONCLUSION THERE IS - THE END OF DICTATORSHIP
Right I am off to the front line - its raining and will separate the men from the boys LMAO!

I don't know many who gain 2 hours, those that do drive like a luny, run everywhere or take their own cars. I work to my time, and how can they predict what will be coming in each day, they can't do that now, light mondays, so why will they be alble to plan better next year.
They want us at their beck and call, nearly every modern business, tells their workers what time they will start and what time they will finish, I only go to work so I can pay the bills, I work to live NOT live to work!!

They are cracking lads, we are getting more and more of the RIGHT sort of exposure now, in the papers , on tv etc. Our side of the argument is coming across now and people are agreeing that the flexibility issue is a JOKE, ive never heard of anyone not knowing what hours they work unless, like my wifes job its a flexi job and SHE chooses how early or late she goes in and when acording to HER life, someon hit the nail on the head...we work TO LIVE not other way round!!!
STAND STRONG THERES NOT LONG TO GO, NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO CAVE IN PEOPLE!! FULL STEAM AHEAD TIL THEY CRUMBLE!!!

As long as they keep Billy Hayes off the screens or better yet, don't let him talk at all, some of the best responses I've seen and heard have come from the picket line, we all know it's not about pay, but about the other crap they want to impose on us. Plus the public need to realise we are providing a worse service now, than we were 5 years ago, can't remember who came and join RM about then :) but they and the goverment have drove the service into the ground, and we are a service not a money making machine.

TEA on the picket line are you stuck in the 70s no you need to modernise coffee is the way forwardTrueBlueTerrier wrote:I am afraid to report I am weakening - I took tea on to the line yesterday but everyone else wanted coffee. coffee it shall be![]()
Now to be serious. We are winning this RM seem to be panicking at the moment and are doing their best to their spin machine in operation. As I see it the more spin we see from them the stronger our position becomes.

Pension De-coupling
I think decoupling is a great idea. The pension issue is of enormous importance and will take a lot of time and cosnultation and possibly ballots to finally resolve - pity about the manager's pay deal being dependant on our agreement on pensions aw shucks boo hoo. Looks as though they have been royally shafted by RM.
Menas we can start to concentrate on the real issues here and clarify them for the public and we must come out loud and clear that our track record on flexibility and modernisation is good but that what the management want us to do is - as other have said - live to work and not work to live.
We really should make that our slogan - not that way round of course but this way: Work to live not live to work!
makes me laugh to see that we are still carrying out 70s trade union practices according to company beats - well excuse my French but what have all these bloody wonderful managers being doing since then to change things. If I was AL I don't think I would have much confidence in his management at any level.
And to those who have been scabbing - come back and join us - we all make mistakes in life and it's never too late to support your union, your colleagues and the service.
