Un-ballotted industrial action Wimbledon Delivery Office - SW13-SW15, SW19 & SW20

Staff have stopped work at Wimbledon Delivery Office today in connection with a local issue. Deliveries of all mail in the SW19 area have been affected. We are now utilising managers and others to deliver as many items as we can this afternoon. We will be making efforts to perform as many collections from business customers as we can today, however customers may wish to post mail at a local Post Office® or the Wimbledon Delivery Office at 12 Cranbrook Road, LONDON, SW19 4BB. The enquiry office at Wimbledon remains open for customers to collect items where we have previously left a ‘Something for you’ card.

Those postcodes are Barnes,Putney Wimbledon and West Wimbledon which are 4 different delivery offices not the one as it suggests.Are all four offices out?

Two drivers from Wimbledon one with 18 years another with over 20 years were sacked today for allegedly leaving two packets on the drivers seat in a LOCKED van. FACT! All of south London could follow if this decision is not overturned. I truly hope common sense prevails.

More draconian sanctions to cut head count whilst the hoy poly of Royal Mail and the CWU carve our jobs up will these two be the only causality's I doubt it we are all in the firing line except those at the top!

2nd office in less than a week. As many of us predicted this will be happening more and more in delivery offices as we are on the brink with horrendous management & workload. Dave and billy should be paying close attention when negotiating delivery issues! hope these boys get their jobs back.

Do the Management really expect nothing to happen when there is a clear miscarriage of justice, if the fact as stated a locked van parcel in front seat, officially packet should be in the back to be taken out one by one, however the reaction of the Managment is a bit extreme and very stupid to sack them provoking the reaction you would get. even more case for doing the job exactly by the book.

Hope these guys get their job back, it will be a nightmare for them especially just before Christmas.
