This is the future, the introduction of new technology by the military always will find its way into the civilian way of life.

Re: Amazon’s warning to Royal Mail
Hysterical. Can you imagine RM gets drones too, we could recreate the Battle of Britain. The skies would be like something out of a PS3 game, as the DOM sticks another 'Amazon' with a cross through it on the fuselage of his drone or bollocks the remote pilot for cutting off at 13:40....

Re: Amazon’s warning to Royal Mail
Our biggest concern would be if they outsource the control of these drones to somewhere like Mumbai

Scientists have discovered how huge flocks of birds decide when to change direction in mid flight... they use a kind of 'democratic hierarchy.'

Royal Mail won't be participating in the Drone Wars. RM drones wouldn't be able to take off, not with our DOMs "just do these couple of deliveries on the way...."bustedflush wrote:Can you imagine RM gets drones too, we could recreate the Battle of Britain...

I think you are misunderstanding what Amazon mean by using "Drones" they are in fact are referring to the use of human beings who are forced by desparation to work for below subsistence wages and due to appalling working conditions assume eventually the persona of a Drone.

No, they're keeping the "Droids" story for the post-Christmas sales

I must admit I couldn't believe how bad their work was when I saw the Amazon Documentary on Panorama or whatever show it was. The guy walked over 11 miles on a nightshift, down relentless gloomy aisles with intermittent lighting. OK, he doesn't have D2D's and dogs and rain to worry about, but that's like doing 2-3 daily postman walks in a 9 hour shift.
