Dude I just don't understand why folk want to start early unless asked to do so and on dockett.
Obv I've never worked with you so I shouldn't tar you with the same brush as some I've seen.
Start early.no break.run around.stressed
To be told that they must be doing something wrong when they claim dockett.
I witnessed this yesterday.
Tbh if I'm under by a good bit I'll give it back.
But it takes all sorts.
I won

"The use of assigned equipment on the duty is MANDATORY" ]
we have had 3 relationship meetings regarding our office which included the transformation. . the trolleys was a big issue that was brought up which made 'mandatory' flawed! how do you use trolleys in blocks of flats ect? you cant leave mail on the trolleys outside, remember the integrity of the mail...

Then the planner was in error and trolleys should not have been assigned for that particular loop. An 8kg max pouch should be the equipment assigned.

A duty can be assigned different equipment for different loops, indeed mine will have a mixture of LWT Loops and 8 Kg pouch Loops.

It does if they are the ASSIGNED equipment. Just as the 8kg Pouch is mandatory if its the ASSIGNED equipment for that loop.

I would much rather have the 2nd 20 minute at home eating than stopping on my round, eating in the rain,or in front of a house I am supposed to be delivering to.

people do have to realise that coming in early no matter what the reason, will result in the managers looking at the finishing time. This is the only thing they are focused on, no matter how it is achieved,a duty that probably could be done in the time will have more added and will become impossible to do.The only thing people or organisations put money into a business for is to make money! and the only way to do that is to make more profit or reduce overheads , and guess what they are looking at the wage bill already.God help us all !

Why sad? You stated "over half come in early". What does that tell you? A democratic majority therefore put the early completion of the job BEFORE 2O minute breaks etc. And you are NOT working for free if you come in early and finish early - you are simply completing the round in an earlier time slot than proscribed. Now IF people came in early and took no break and still finished on or over their time then yes, the workload is excessive. I'd rather have my 20 minutes at home with a cup of coffee in front of the TV or in the garden in summer. It seems most think that way. People don't start early to spite the Union or reps etc. but for a better quality of life as they see it. The distinction must be made between those whom want to start early and those that have to start early. I finished at 12:55 today, and yes I came in half hour early and took no meal relief. As did my partner, the pair next to us in the aisle, and the pair next to them etc. Sometimes the managers shake their heads when we leave at 13:00-13:30 on busy days, but let us do it as they know we'll seldom ever be signing the docket sheet for going over and they are aware some of us are fast. Plus the customers get their mail earlier.
Wait until next revision when they add more. The suits wont care if you are working your hours even if you finish early. They dont care that you are coming in early. If they notice your finishing early, regardless whether your having a break or not, they look at your finishing time. so if your finishing 30 mins early etc, thats 30 mins to add to your duty. Then what will you do next? Come in even earlier. It just destroys it for the people who do the job as set by royal mail. You get a paid for break. most companies dont even give that now. And the answer for everyone who says its not possible to come in on time and complete your duty within time without coming in early... cut off.
