These problems have been festering for 3 years and wouldn't have got to case critical if the union had listened to the workforce during that time. RM have been using BT2010 to create an intimidating workplace with a split FT/PT workforce that is getting closer to 50/50 and are using that as a carrot for PT'ers in the hope of full time contracts.

Talking is preferred to walking, but I guess that the CWU will struggle with RM as most of their hierarchy have more faces than Big Ben.

Can anyone really imagine Moya saying -

" Yes there is a problem in delivery and we will address it, in the new agreement it will state no delivery officer shall have to work past his/hers contracted hours if they don't wish to. All line managers will come around prior to delivery asking all delivery officers if they wish to work overtime. No delivery officer shall commence work before their official start time and all breaks will be taken" ;liar ;liar

Do you mean Billy and Co. would rather talk than do a delivery - oh I don't doubt that. :cuppa

I dunno about "changed my mind". I would go as far as to say that, given how much pressure that could've been applied before Xmas has been reduced, my enthusiasm has waned.

Comments about down to the wire were spot on. I remember a time when a deal was very close & to keep the ballot result legally valid members in one unit were pulled for a couple of hours. Unless I'm imagining it. Anyone else remember that? :hmmmm

why would anyone have changed their minds ?
because we have been messed about so much and nobody is being told what is happening apart from what dingo tells us on here and every 1 is p.ssed off. imho think think more will go in rather than strike. just my opinion. and yes I will be out.
we are not going to be told anything until negotiations are concluded, this is always the case, why do so many struggle with this aspect ?
It's called MONEY :whistle

Well it would be nice to know how things are progressing, particularly for deliveries where the immediate concern is not money but work load and all the ancillary problems that go with it.

You know what they say- you can fool some of the people some of the time, you can fool some of the people all of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time - no matter how much spin you put on it.
