Looks like we are being SOLD DOWN THE RIVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!
What is the point in paying union subs, When we never really get any-where, this union must now be a laughing stock.
Are they management in disguise, like they are were I work.
There is one union official at my work place, who was voted off by the union membership, when the closure was announced, and he ended up sorting everything out for the management, of course he sorted himself out and his mates out first, He knows who he is, if he reads this.

Lets all hope that they get a good deal without the need for any strike action .That wont do us or the company any good now or in the future .

Or just as likely a bad deal without strike action, there is no plan B

So the company believes Delivery has more to give ?
Dingo tell Bob Gibson and Dave Ward that this isn't the case.
Whatever happens with timings, votes and agreements the service and possibly the C.W.U will implode
if more pressure is put on Delivery.

The pressure cannot be that great Dingo, that it will have taken them since 4th November to possibly come away with no deal, enter into a strike period and lose business at the same time. That does not sound like a management that is scrapping for it,s life.

I heard that MC staff were offered evr on how much o/t, allowances, pay they got. Not on seniority. Agreed by union. If I`m thinking of the same MC.

Dingo, can you elaborate on the reasons why Royal Mail do not want an extension because of the pressure they are under. Where is that pressure coming from, as I would have thought that the biggest pressure would have been if we actually do strike.

This is just royal mail twisting the screws on the union.

We need a deal by weds 20th , if nothings been done by weds 20th we have to tell amazon etc and they take there business elsewhere and we loose money plus if your members strike we loose even more money/customers, so will the union cave in at this threat or call strike action.

I smell either another extension or a strike date set, then to be called off at the last minute due to another blinding deal.

All I know is support in my office is dwindling for a strike, don't get me wrong they will go out still, but the longer this drags on the more the support starts to wane.

Christmas is coming, most posties aren't exactly flush with cash and if this drags on until after Christmas it will be a disaster.

It can't because amazon will of given r/m a cut off date where they need to know one way or the other so then they can make alternative plans for there xmas parcels.

Thinking out of the box... It might not be a bad idea if a really good deal that properly address the issues of Delivery is sorted out after Christmas.

Pre-Christmas was a good time and we had some sort of upper hand in terms of Strikes but at Xmas we are not going to get much support and it is not the wisest idea to knack off one of our biggest customers especially at this time of the year. RM ability to offer concession is related to their long-term profit making...

The talks have gone on too long and I fear that a hasty Agreement might be sort to put things to bed sooner than later.

I do not believe that there will be another extension on the Strikes ballot (IMO). However, the whole thing can be postponed and we can have another ballot if needs be.

Stirkes will still be a bad option for RM regardless of when it takes place. Winter is still a busy period anyway and a lot of posties can do with bunking off work - I mean will not mind a Strike in the Winter time

Surely xmas is the best time if you have to strike as it puts the maximum pressure on royal mail to get it sorted, posties are going to loose the same amount regardless of what the month it happens.

Re not wanting to piss the customer off , they will post with who ever is cheapest so no loyalty there.

I believe the union are doing there best for us all folks. And we must continue to support them. The officials who are present at the "talks" have been very tight lipped about rumours getting out.
I'm expecting nothing in terms of a deal pre-Christmas.
Lets all just sit tight.........
