will never happen. i know for a fact i would just cut off everyday if they try this

same here. would not trust them AT ALL with banked hours. cutting off it would be.

It is made pretty clear at the start of the talks that neither side will provide any updates while the talks are progressing.
I don't know why some people still expect a tweet every 5 minutes.
We are fortunate that Dingo does provide us with snippets of information but neither the CWU or RM are ever going to do that.

Why shouldn't we get updated every day?
We are the membership who pay our union fees so I think we have some kind of a right by the union to let us know what's going on! It is our future after all!

I think they feel it would make the whole negotiations process unworkable if each side was briefing their members every few minutes.

I would hazard a guess that the Union would update us every day if they could. However, Royal Mail, and many other businesses, have a standard practice of holding the talks "In Camera" whilst they are going on.

Whilst I would like an update every day, I would rather that any pay deal, or agreement is not jeopardised by an unagreed update. It is entirely possible that RM could withdraw ANY pay rise if the Union divulged any real details, and as money seems important to a lot of members I would have thought many would be of the same opinion.

Weekly is good update, but it would be nice to know what had been agreed so far and and what are the sticky point. If there is pay rise agreement of 3%, why can't we have it now instead of waiting for whole agreement to be completed.

Well Royal Mail shouldn't be so picky because there is no deal unless we vote it in. Mind I have the feeling that come Wednesday there will be a revelation, like the road to Damascus, out will pop the "ground breaking" deal with dates for back pay, £300 bung AND the Christmas bonus ALL before Christmas - which of course won't be a sweetener for a YES vote of course - oh no - it will have been down to masterful negotiating Oh and delivery issues yes they will be revisited in the New Year when a full and comprehensive discussion will take place.

So pack the picket barbecues away til next time.

We have heard different folks, yes it is all about delivery as it should be, the way we are treated, yes maybe a better pay deal, but no £300, no backdated pay offer, so I for 1 won't be accepting it

Money is important but having a job after 3 or 5 years is more important.

This is going the same way as the 2010 dispute, posties wanted fair work loads what the union got us was more pay and van share, this dispute posties want the whole van-share sorted , deliveries that can actually be done in time, staff not being threatened for not completing and what the union are doing yet again is getting a pay increase whilst totally ignoring the whole delivery aspect.

The people negotiating when was the last time they did a delivery, if they ever have? They have no idea the impact the things they agree to have on the staff actually doing the work.
