Ok, I just phoned up the Christmas helpline, lady said they've had several calls on this, she wasn't sure exactly what "TRANSFER PROCESSED" means but as far as she can tell my application is proceeding as normal. She thinks it may just be another way of saying that security checks are being carried out.

Still none the wiser on exactly what "TRANSFER PROCESSED" means but I'm now on SECURITY CHECKS PASSED and have had the email confirming this, so it sounds as though it's nothing to worry about.
