UK Postal volumes forecasted to increase during festive time

What a pointless story.
Parcel volumes up during Xmas shocker!
They'll be telling us it might snow next.....

according to our dom parcels will increase 6% on last xmas and letter volume will decrease 12%

Ask them where they get their figures from.
I'd bet these will be totally wrong.
Parcels will be up. A lot. Like always.
On cards, maybe down on last year, as less send them now.
But, not as much as 12%, can't see that.

Some sources are predicting around 10% down for cards due to the price increase of stamps. It's all guess work in my opinion though. If memory serves cards were actually up last year, so much for "oh it's the digital age now".

But stamps haven't gone up for 18 months.
They are at the same price now that they were for last Christmas (and April 2012 for that matter).

erm could this have something to do with the current "we love parcels" advert
