A woman has been blacklisted by Royal Mail after slamming a postman’s head in the door of his red van, a court heard.

Royal Mail has refused to deliver post to Keeley Drew’s (cor) home in Fitzherbert Drive, Brighton, for the past four months after the incident on July 11.

She attacked postman Greg Rogers (COR) after her dog barked at him and an argument broke our, Brighton Magistrates’ Court heard.

The 32-year-old now has to go to Brighton’s sorting office to collect her post, Royal Mail confirmed yesterday (FRI).

At the court hearing on Thursday Drew, who has never been in trouble with the law before, admitted one count of assault by beating.

Juliet Evans, prosecuting, said: “He is a postman. He was delivering to the woman in question. A dog came out and barked at her. It was her dog. They had an argument.

“She [Drew] followed the postman and slammed the door of his van against his head.”

Miss Evans said Mr Rogers had a headache afterwards.

Jenna Threadgold, defending, said while Drew deliberately slammed the door she did not intend to hit Mr Rogers head – but accepted she had.

“It was a mutual argument,” she said.

“The dog had not been aggressive. She has not received any post since July.”

Drew was given a two-year conditional discharge.

A Royal Mail spokeswoman said: “We have suspended deliveries to one address in Fitzherbert Drive, Brighton, following an incident involving one of our postmen and a member of the public.

“We deliver to almost 29 million addresses across the UK, so it is always a last resort if we decide not to deliver to a specific address and we will not compromise on the health and safety of our postmen and women.

“Mail is being made available for the customer affected to collect their mail from the local delivery office in Brighton.”

Her deliveries should be banned for ever.
Even if she moves house.

The postie in question was likely following protocol when the argument broke out.
Sometimes, I wish I wasn't a Rep.

Two year conditional discharge? She got off with not even a slap on the wrist.
