Re: Official Update
I don't recall the threat of strike action in 2009 in negotiations. Just the strikes where called off.Full Stop. The same in 2007. The deal so far on fully legal binding agreement is a good one,as is the pay.The issue is deliveries. The command and control culture has to stop.
Recent surveys on bullying to CWU HQ from it's members,(deliveries) may be playing a huge part in negotiations. There is still the threat of strike action and only the business can stop it. Unless it coms clean on unachievable workloads I am sure it is better to try and sort it out and put THEM under pressure.

The momentum is lost because of the CWU. Just don't understand why we don't strike whilst talks take place.
What postie wants to strike at Christmas? Besides the financial impact, Joe Public would resent us. And Royal Mail know this hence extension after extension and before you know it, it's Christmas and a pathetic deal for us all yet again.

DISGRACE!!!
Just how long does it take to "Talk" ????
What issues have been resolved?
Which haven't?
We want to know what is going on,Not being made to wait and wait and wait,What a sorry state of affairs this is,Pathetic.

Re: Official Update
It really is funny that now you have lots of people who were previously shaky on a strike suddenly giving it the big one and calling a seven day extension.
Do you really think our negotiators would have agreed to a further 7 day extension if there is not a very good prospect of a deal. Yes still work to be done but the union confident of a ground breaking deal.
The membership voted in an industrial action ballot that they are prepared to take industrial action in defence of they pay, pensions , terms and conditions and job security.
Now the CWU are confident of getting an agreement which will be subject to an individuals members ballot without any member losing a seconds worth of pay. Yet most of the posters want to go out cause it looks good or feels good ? Its about getting the right agreement not letting of steam.
I have been out plenty of times but the aim has alway been to get a deal. Some of you need to have a little bit more faith and surely you can wait 7 days.

History repeating.
Ground breaking deal? Is that like as good or better as 'the deal of the century'?

Re: Official Update
Well it falls short of the "Deal of the Century" but apparently it will be "ground breaking" so I'm just wondering if we'll be issued with a spade - as for waiting 7 days I believe it is closer to 32 since the ballot but its been so long I've forgotten. Not that it matters, there was never any prospect of IA because the union was afraid it would show the frailties of the system.Desperate_Dan wrote:dingo wrote:. Re: Official Update
We've been told that a deal is 'just around the corner' for nigh on two weeks now. Any more delays and the threat of strike action just won't be an aid to negotiation as nobody will strike!dingo wrote:It really is funny that now you have lots of people who were previously shaky on a strike suddenly giving it the big one and calling a seven day extension.

It's now or never. Important week ahead for the union, as members will no doubt desert it in droves if they don't come back with something substantial.

Erm think we've been waiting alot more than 7 days already Dingo?????
For me this smacks of the ridiculous delays prior to the previous shambles of an agreement. What happens after this magical extra 7 days Dingo? Yet another delay until after xmas maybe? Been there before haven't we Dingo and yet you find it strange that people aren't jumping for joy right now?
Union what Union? Do we have a union?
