Re: Official Update
We are no longer talking about a ''threat'' merely ''consideration'' of Industrial Action.the threat of a strike 5 weeks before xmas
We can only hope that the final Agreement is one hell of a f**king deal that Reps are having to sell to members

Re: Official Update
That is the problem, it's a threat that the union have no intention of carrying out and that is blatantly obvious to you, me AND more importantly Royal Mail. They'll happily string it along as long as they can. Do you know what I seriously think?, RM have come as far as they are going and it is now a question of a face saving exercise for the CWU. They will want to trumpet a great victory bordering on the "Deal of the Century" whilst in the meantime the workforce continue in abject misery.chickenwittle wrote:agreed this should have been done months ago but if it takes a few more days i can live with that, the threat of a strike 5 weeks before xmas should help the union get the deal they are after.dvbuk55 wrote:Let them get on with it? Re: Official Update
im sure dingo will be on later to explain the use of the word consideration but at the end of the day the ballot is still live,i assume progress is being made and the union can see a deal in sight. As a long suffering postie its frustrating but we just have to sit tight for a while longer.viking1488 wrote:consideration a new word for we lick rm arsechickenwittle wrote:why is there no threat of strike action. just because they used the word consideration ?.The ballot is still live.BernardBresslaw wrote:The problem is there isn't the threat of strike action any more! Re: Official Update
Huge pressure now for the Union negotiators to come up with a very good deal. Expectations will be raised with every postponement of action. I can see the sense in it if there's prospect of an agreement fairly shortly, but the appetite for going out will soon be gone.

Re: Official Update
the big problem here is that a lot of people wont like the idea of a strike on top of christmas for MANY reasons..this way the union will present a deal that most people are desperate for...it does not matter the whys and wherefores people will shrug there shoulders and take what they can and vote it in..again the C.W.U have lit the match and ran at the sign of the fire.i say hold your area rep and rep to account and tell them of your displeasure...IF AND ONLY IF you have felt let down, for crying out loud have a say..
as it stands it could be the deal of the century

What a joke these people are
Idle threat, after idle threat.
Its evident both parties are miles apart in the talks, wasn't it announced before dinner?

Re: Official Update
Patience please!!! RM are dragging it out, of course. Weakening our resolve on here against this tactic plays into their hands for now. Being up for action come November 27th as Xmas is on the horizon works in OUR favour. Believing rumour and speculation from the Lord Haw Haw's of RM does no good. People posting on here about resigning, giving up, getting out, does our cause no good at all. Make that decision when you see an agreement. Until then, let's hold our nerve, stand firm and be ready for action should the call be made. This is too important to us all to start to wuss out now.
