just read the rest of the thread ... a week extension wtf are Dave/Billy and the executive f***ing playing at they said the deadline was the 13th if no agreement was reached but extended it by another f***ing week

this is the right time to grab them by the balls instead they have put RM in a stronger position by backing down

time Billy/Dave and the entire executive resigned .... I have no confidence in them

No but then it never is, it's left to poor old dingo to make a tentative statement, yet again, that the strike is off and further stalling tactics are on the cards. In truth though we really knew didn't we? We hoped that this time would be different but it never is - we are the cash cow and so we have to be appeased but peeing up our backs seems a more apt expression.

There have to be serious questions asked of the negotiators if they walked into a room 10 days ago and didn't realise someone was missing.The importance of these talks was clear from the start Mark Higson is Managing Director, Operations and Modernisation,It is obvious that none of the delivery issues would have been agreed without his say so.

If there is no full agreement come tomorrow then inform RM will will have a 24Hr strike in a weeks time.If they still aren't taking us seriously then we go out for 48Hrs straight the following week,and so on until we get a deal,or the whole f*****g company comes crashing down.
TBH I've had enough of all this wishy washy bollox,every time we give the union our backing and every time it seems like it was for nothing...

If Amazon and the other big players jump ship,its down to RM,not us and as long as ive worked for RM,at the end of the day its a job,not life or death.Plenty of big firms have folded in recent times and people pick themselves up and find work elsewhere.I'm not saying it would be easy,but i'm fed up being mucked about by company AND the union.

All or nothing....

At the end of the day the union are supposed to protect jobs. If that happens jobs will go. I know it's hard, but it's in the interests of both parties to try and find some middle ground here, so lets just show a bit of patience and trust for a while longer here and see what develops.

The truth is Christmas is upon us. If Amazon thought it could jump ship at this time of year, it would have done it all ready.
Amazon does not care for the profits of Royal Mail, or share holder dividends. It only cares about the profits of Amazon.
To give further extensions on the back of what Royal Mail says about Amazon's position is ludicrous, There are plenty of threads with quotes from directors of competitors saying there is not the capacity in the UK postal Market at Xmas .
I personally don't want to strike, I can't afford to. But I know that if the current regime is not challenged, I physically wont be able to do this job in the future.
Damned if we do, Damned if we don't.
But to go down without a fight is unacceptable.

If the industrial action is not done within 4 weeks of the closing date of the ballot then it can be challenged and stopped in Court


This is from the Government website.

The union must serve a valid notice of industrial action on the employer at least seven days before the start of the action, only inducing those members who were given the right to vote in the ballot to participate;

The industrial action must start within four weeks of the closing date of the ballot.



If an employer believes that one or more of the above steps has not been complied with then it should keep any evidence of this non-compliance as it could be used in a potential challenge to the industrial action.

He and his son were clowns at Blackpool Tower Circus and he was quite famous 40 years or so ago. We took the children to see him and they were enthralled, he was also quite an accomplished musician on the violin. He may well have played at the Palladium.
