why not just delay till after christmas? RM keeps the result alive till after xmas...

will they wont they is kinda unsettling and boring now.

dingo just said we are not going on strike for strike sake - yea? some of us has said all along that the CWU bosses really do not want a strike and some members also just want a strike and could not see a good deal coming out of the negotiations or some just wants to give RM a bloody nose...

the other thing is that it is not good news for those that want a strike when very senior reps are worried about what Amazon might do. although I do agree that we should be worried but why give all that bluster and fighting talk when the Union and RM management are not exactly that far apart anyway.

if they solve this issue after another week's extension, then it make you really wonder... (to hear that a big player has not been present is also disappointing)

* I can see that dingo is up for some argument and trying to convince folks in a more forceful manner than before. what i will like to add is that dingo might boast about his ability to persuade and getting 90+% to vote No but there are many smaller offices and outpost with no reps or where the reps have given up because of lack of support from CWU, Management and Members - ours did!

** Also, are the CWU really going to make a concerted effort in urging members in Delivery to do the job properly and come in on on their time. Because no agreement is going to change much if people are being so selfish, and if some are ready to work for nothing and/or dump on their posties that try to do the job as it should be done.

*** There is also the issue of unfair workload amongst posties in delivery - not just from RM but from the duties themselves.

Well done you mentioned the most important word "Tomorrow" The CWU twitter feed says that there will be news most likely tomorrow. Still not sure where all this latest news about extensions is coming from? Can someone point me to it?

The word I'm hearing is that talks will be extended for another week, main sticking points around deliveries. I guess we will see if my source is right tomorrow

Is it not time if royal mail and it's illustrious leaders did not get on the front line if they deny their is a problem without the convening middle/signor management at their side! But most members on here know full well the truth of this matter and our strength of feeling is at boiling point the CWU must take firm action now if not it will lose it's position and a far more radical action minded union will take it's place! Royal Mail will go into meltdown if nothing is resolved and we are at critical level already.

I agree entirely, this is the worst possible scenario and we've been here before, as Royal Mail edge ever closer to Xmas. Many union members will not be happy with this.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

It's all hot air with Amazon, bit like the Union! They threatened to take their account elsewhere last time, then came crawling back when realised were being given s**t service by other provider!

Amazon now have their own vans (Amazon Logistics) in some areas, they still send a lot through RM but they are testing the water to see if it's viable to deliver it themselves.

They have announced a 7 day delivery service for the London area to start in the coming weeks
