The point is does the offer which Royal Mail have given still stand if their is a strike ?

That's always going to be the case.
This is bad dingo no matter how you try to paint it,It's the worst possible scenario after the suspension of the November 4th Strike...still no agreement,another couple of weeks gone and no strike date called.Royal Mail have given concessions but only on their terms,they've called our bluff and we've as good as folded.

Royal Mail know now there'll be no pre-christmas strikes and in my personal opinion I don't think there ever would have been with those in charge on our side...in charge.
They've lost their bottle or they're heads have been turned,whatever it doesn't really matter because they've no longer got the stomach for the fight....and RM knows it.

Considering we the union members haven't heard anything officially from the talks so far , and the rumours that strike action to be extended , it seems we are being shafted once again , and myself and other union members are losing any will to back strike action now ,as RM deff seem to either have the upper hand or more likely are stalling to get the Xmas rush by with , when by them we will have list the upper hand !!

It is ok to have a different opinion , if there is an agreement within the next 7 days it would have been the right decision if there is no agreement then it will have been the wrong call. Let's see !

its all a bit tedious now,no one know anything yet.but if a decision is not arrived at shortly,i will be letting my rep know about it..after all he represents me and ill have my say.all this dick swinging is very annoying.the union need to grow a pair.dont strike the match and then moan about the flame!!!! these people need to be smartened up,its not all tea and biscuits and lots of release time

From what you say , Progress has not been made. It seems like their is major problems with delivery' s. So in two weeks no progress has been made on that issue . So i am very sceptical any ground will be made in another weeks extension. In my mind announcing a strike next week will speed up talks allot. if no deal in that time, then we go out on strike.

Good on Dingo thanks for the input but I bet sides from both ends of the spectrum are on here but I believe the strength of feeling is we must action now and talk until any strike or deal postmen are dying on the streets sickness though the roof in most delivery offices chronically understaff hours 50% full to 50% part time ratio and all the stress that goes with it something needs to be done and needs doing now not next week!

As we are not in talks maybe Royal Mail have said they will withdraw offer if strikes go ahead and this is what the union are worried about.. Just a thought

i agree that the royal mail seem to be dragging it out in hope they will see out xmas pressure without a strike but people in here shouting for a strike for the sake of it are just plain foolish! If we can get a good deal without striking why would we need to strike? If talks are going well and a few things still need agreeing or working on thats no reason to just walk out on strike! As dingo said after a strike the union still have to negotiate the things they are negotiating now!
