Pay rise was due last April, therefore we are owed money. How dare either side suggest otherwise.
Its high time these pay negotiations started a few months before April in future. Then we might get
paid on time, instead of all this posturing to see who caves in first.

No actually, all that happened in April was that our previous pay agreement ran out in april. there was never any agreement which said we were due another pay rise in april

well basically they can because your the one who is assuming that you should have got a pay rise in april, which is fair enough, but you cant blame RM as they never agreed to give as a pay rise then, and you cant blame the union as they had never secured a deal to get us one then and they are trying to get a new pay agreement backdated

I thought it was 20% but in either case its mentioned in this LTB http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... as#p598723" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; as that it will in line with the PBS agreement.

If you are still being paid - yes

If you are on half pay - only 50%

If you are not being paid - No.

At least thats what happened in previous years.

Newbie here, only been a postie since beginning of August this year, work from the Nottingham East office. Hello all.

Just a quickie as I haven't heard it mentioned anywhere before I read this thread so didn't even know of the existence of an xmas bonus but does this apply to everyone? Ie... full time, part time?

And is it definitely £200 for everyone?

Thanks in advance,

So new, still wet behind the ears and so many questions!

The Xmas bonus is paid pro-rata on the number of contracted hours. I think.

It is usually £100 for full time (39hrs) staff but this year people are talking about an additional £100 for something or the other.

I know RM has a lot of employees but £100 for the amount of work, pressure and money generated over the Xmas period is a touch low.

How much do the managers get? And why does one person gets almost £1million in bonuses whilst the rest are tossed a measly £100 - PRO RATA?

We get £100 as normal and im pretty sure the extra £100 we are getting is something negotiated as part of the colleague shares we never got.

Anyway £200 every xmas not to be sniffed at,Especailly as it will probably disappear when we lose our current contracts do.

Cheers for the replies folks.

I shall wait and see then but even 100 quid would come in very handy in our house this year.

Sorry to sound petty but the answer is in the first page of this very thread.

It's high time the union reversed the trick that Alan Leighton pulled on them.

They should ask for a three-and-a-half year pay deal. Backdated to April this year, with an end date of October 2016.

Why?

Because our pay settlement date, pre-Leighton, was October of each year.

It's a lot more effective, if negotiations start to drag on for a month, to threaten strike action with Christmas looming, than to threaten walkouts in the summer season, when RM couldn't really give a toss. Look how long the current negotiations have been going on
