Majority of full time staff to start no later than 07:00

I have been told by the planner that this does not apply from office to office and our office in the DM revision will have the majority of full time staff starting at 07:05 is this fact or fiction.

the planners wanted us to start at 07:00 but we refused and stayed at 06:27 starts.

it all depends on what time your mail lorries arrive in the morning, ours are 04:45 and 06:30 so there was no need to change our start times.

the job is getting so late we will be delivering in the dark at 4pm soon, the walks keep getting bigger with the increase in packets & they keep starting us later!

when our mail center shuts , there on about us starting at 7.50 which is a joke , child care issues , delivering in the dark and out all day in summer wheres the health and safety there. jobs s**t.

how are they going to cover rounds on ot if they starting this late? We get our mail about 9-9.30 now and there is no way you can do ot in daylight after doing your own duty?
I can see a few issues on the horizon? What is the financial benefit of altering the start times for RM?

Lower rates of pay as they do not have to pay premium rates for early morning starts, particularly for the lorry drivers who have to shift this stuff around. Can,t think of any other benefit other than Gregs are probably not open until 8ish, so nowhere for managers to hide.

The original post was about delivery start times in my office hardly anyone will be starting at 07:00 but at 07:05 surely this is against national agreement, the planner says no any advice dingo cheers

Is it against the national agreement? No.

Depending on the location of a DO and its distance from a MC, I would guess there are lots of remote offices that start after 7am.
Your start time should be related to your mail arrival times.

But 7am or 7.05am - what is the difference either to you or to RM? Those 5 minutes seem a bit petty and pointless.
Won't half your office will be in at 6.30 anyway..........

Surely the main reason is that machine sequencing is cheaper than manual sorting but it takes longer hence the later starts.

Well our office opens at 8am, we finish 4pm. Can't wait to be working in thick ice etc in the dark. Oh can't wait for the accidents, see what RM say then.

Fri 7:30-3:30
Sat 7:40-3:28 (7:45-3:26 if on 1 in 4 sat off)
