SUSPENSION
Hope someone can help me with this. I have been suspended for wilful delay and have a conduct interview to look forward to. I am expecting the worst and was wondering if i resign would this process follow me. references etc. I cant take the risk of attending a formal interview and being sacked when i could walk now and stand half a chance of getting another job.

Re: SUSPENSION
I wouldn't jump just yet.
It depends on the circumstances.
If you're in the union, speak to your Rep ASAP.
Have you had your fact finding interview yet?

Re: SUSPENSION
Without full details it's hard to say.
It is rare to fired in the formal interview. At least, I don't know anyone that has been.
It usually ends with a decision via post.
You could post the scenario as it happened, but it may not be advisable.
PM someone, and you may get a better idea.

Re: SUSPENSION
There's not much point in resigning. Either way you're not going to be able to use this job on your CV or use any manager from RM as a reference (unless it's a case where you really get along with one of your linos and they'll write you a nice letter.)
Better to play this out to the end and see if your rep can help you out. That doesn't mean you don't start looking for other work but as long you're in the system, you still have a chance.

Re: SUSPENSION
You have not made it very clear why you have been charged with wilful delay or you had a companion at the initial fact finding interview. If this is your first offence then I would expect you to receive at worst 5 years on your record or 2 years suspended dismissal. Not knowing which do you work at but I can state if you view the back log of volumes of mail at mail centres and distribution centre caused by under staffing by management lapsing jobs then does this not constitute wilful delay.

Re: SUSPENSION
a wilful delay charge could be caused by a variety of things resulting in a variety of punishments ie:
Cutting off
Case dropped as over zealous manager trying to make up a charge
A few missorts unendorsed left in frame
coaching to ensure it doesnt happen again
Bundle of mail missed
2 year suspended dismissal(that would actually be harsh for that)
10000 letters in house
Loss of job possible criminal charge
So if you can give us a rough idea what you have allegedly done, without too much detail that will identify you then we could offer some better advice

Spot on, we can't tell you what your charges are unless you tell us exactly what happenedzx135 wrote:a wilful delay charge could be caused by a variety of things resulting in a variety of punishments ie:
