The email is confirmation that the DRG will not be going ahead on Thursday. We are locked in these talks until Friday and we have made no progress at all today. They remain unwilling to accept the scale of the problem in delivery. So much so that their response to our document that in their opinion contains irrelevant words and information has been countered with a 1.5 page document that is an insult to our intelligence and our members.

They should all (all those above an opg) accompany us on our deliveries every day , 5 days a week , then they will see the problems. Plenty of uniforms available so get them out on the streets.

How will we in delivery be shafted?
We outnumber every other function massively, so any deal has to be voted in by us.

We will most likely be shafted because a lot of members do not know or follow the issues...

Moreover, once the Execs at CWU say we have Agreed and we think the Agreement is good, then most members will simply vote Yes or not al all.

Why would delivery be an issue this time? It is most likely that things are now been looked at keenly by the Union and there must have been enough complaints and delivery issues raised with the Union of the years.

RM knows we are our own worst enemy and they will continue to play on that. They just pile a lot more and folks will most get on with it as long as some are 'Alright' and as long as most finish early...

Union talking about Fairness is a can of worms for them and RM: a lot in delivery probably do not even accept the concept...

maybe they think we are all thickos in delivery. Perhaps, they think we still do 2 deliveries a day, finish at 11.30am and do plenty of ghost OT and carry out the good old fashioned Spanish practices.

One of them need to take off their suit or skirt and come out for a week on Delivery. (it does not even have to be at Xmas)

Delivery will vote it in! No one can stop them so what's your point about delivery being full of thickos?

I was referring to the post above which made reference to insulting the Union negotiators intelligence when they presented them with issues in delivery.

How else can you explain their foolhardiness? They must surely think very little of people in deliveries. So many times, the Union has complained about bullying and harassment but RM simply says it is not happening. So much grumblings about absorption but RM wants it to be central in their Business plan...

So if we vote in an Agreement that simply does not favour us or makes things worse for us - like the last one - then what does that say about us? Are you actually saying that we are thickos - because we will vote it in? Maybe!

The question is if the agreement does not address the prevelant bullying and harrasment culture then the delivery negotiators need to pull rank and tell the other negotiators nothing gets past until ALL agree.

One would think that is what should happen... However, the Union might think they have achieved a lot as it is and then put the onus on the members to actually put their heads above the parapet.

If the Union negotiators pull out then it is definitely going to be a Strike and then it will be a long hard slog until we get something close to what members want.

As it stands most members do not know the nitty-gritty of what is going on with the talks... However, if the negotiators pull out, they will have to come out with the real reasons then people (mostly in delivery) will become even more belligerent.
