our Economy is better and stronger but we are getting no benefit for it Scotland is 1 odf 2 regions in the UK with a surplus South east of England being the other region ....

Yada yada, same old illiterate rant.
Here's a link to an article (and there's plenty of them) which indicates you're optimistic at best and deluded at worst-

Heathrow's biggest export customer is none other than Scottish Salmon ......

Could you have written anything more meaningless that that?

For a factcheck Tman it's a bit short on facts apart from this one.
We also don’t know how much debt an independent Scotland would take on, what its borrowing costs would be, what currency it would use and how much it would cost to set up all the institutions of a new state.

Of course the UK government could answer most of those questions before the referendum if it wanted to. But why would it, when economic uncertainty is likely to weigh heavily in the minds of voters?
Says it all really about the arrogance and fragility of the UK Government position that they believe public ignorance is the best way to defend the union.
Comments were good though, basically ripped the "blog" to shreds. :cuppa

as I said the Scottish GDP does not include oil, gas and Whisky .... Scotland will not be getting a share of the oil .... he admits 94% of the oil is in Scottish Maritime waters so Scotland will be entitled to 94% of the oil in the north sea .... so his logic and blog is totally flawed

in other words that business will be flying from a Scottish Airport and not Heathrow

Who says "they" want to defend the union? More like they want the Scots to think past Rob Roy and the "bluddy English" and to think of the long-term consequences before making their mark on the ballot paper.
Even if the North Sea oil dividend is split in Scotland's favour, there's only another twenty years max of (already diminishing) supplies. Better for all that an independent Scotland doesn't go broke and have to be bailed out at some future date due to the celtic love of holding on to four hundred year old grudges rather than face economic reality.
I don't believe there's any real desire to "hold " on to Scotland south of the border. In fact, had "they" really wanted a "Yes" vote all they had to do was to give all UK voters a say... :whistle

Doesn't mean the comments were valid though, just that they didn't like the sentiments.

Who do you want to believe, scientists/engineers or the Torygraph hacks?

If it were to last another hundred years it would be sad if we were all still reliant on burning fossil fuels, and would you really want to base an economy on finite and old tech energy supplies anyway?

Three hundred years of peace, stability and prosperity, an economically politically and socially integrated nation and yet we have these jingoistic, utopian, self delusional nationalists eager to tear it all apart and for what.if there had been independance in 2008 where would we be now.Independance is for the long term something our children and theirs will have to live with.Just read a YES rag ,makes our own courier look like an enlightning read. What i still gets me is the motivation for the labour party for pushing for the parliament in the first place. At first nothing much changed but this current mess was inevitable.Did they really think the snp would be buried.Stupid or duplicitous.its a bit like being on the titanic really because i dont think a no vote will save us.

explain how the UK has benieited Scotland ... we pay higher taxes than the rest of the UK we are 1 of 2 regions in the UK with a trading surplus, we haven't benefited from the discovery of oil and gas when all the money heads down to London .... how have we benefited when our life expectancy is shorter than any part of the UK yet we have to retire at the same age as everyone else in the UK and you say the Uk is working ffs ... had Scotland been a independent country we wouldn't have been involved in Afghanistan and Iraq .... dragged into two wars that have no bearing in Scottish society .... now we are targets from extremists ..... and England will decide whether we are in the EU or not .... our vote is worthless hence remaining in the UK will continue to be undemocratic for Scots living in Scotland as politically we have been diverging since the 1950s ...... the UK is like the Titanic ..... what do passengers do when their ship is sinking .... they abandon it .... the UK as it stands cannot be saved and quite frankly it does not deserve to be saved

I can see now what the ex-pat Scots living in here mean when they say that only the nutters and tartan-clutchers would ever vote yes. Your rants make no sense.

How lucky the celts of all flavours are to have someone else to blame for all their ills... :Boo hoo!

The Eurozone or sterling zone debate got done on page 4 or 5.
Why wold anyone want to fund an armed defence?

I thought most of the British army was Scottish.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Revealed: The ACCOUNTING TRICK that Hides Scotland’s Wealth.

For generations the people of Scotland have been fed a negative narrative on the health of Scotland’s economy. A depressing picture has been drawn by Westminster politicians of Scotland as a subsidised state dependent on the UK for charitable hand-outs with higher levels of debt and a dependency on the public sector. Scotland has been told that without the generosity of the UK to bail us out, Scotland would be a bankrupt nation, unable to meet the very basic needs and wants of its people.

Yep, such an "embarrassment of riches" that the threat of closure of Grangemouth sends the SNP into a quivering mass, and now the possibility of another two ship-yards closing (or being severely curtailed) leads to accusations of political manouvering and interference by Westminster and Holyrood in case the closures influence the outcome of the independence vote.
Seems like those live in the real world are rightly concerned that that "embarrassment of riches" is highly unlikely to filter down to those who actually work for a living, and that said "embarrassment of riches" does actually need bolstering with industry and jobs, which, sadly, seem to be in decline.
That said, had not Westminster place orders for MoD work with Scottish ship-builders over the decades it's likely ship-building would have ceased there years back, so in reality the Clydeside yards were kept open at the expense of English yards in Hartlepool, Sunderland and Newcastle among others.
