Hi. Can anyone pls tell me what my holiday entitlement rights are? I ask because the delivery office I am at have stated that next year holiday requests are on seniority first basis. I have kids all school age and a wife who also works in a school. I am about 155th in line for holiday pick. Do I have any rights if my holiday request for time off in the summer holiday is refused due to all allocated slots being used before my pick?
I Missed out this year for a family holiday due to this unfair process. What rights do I have if this happens again for next year?

Thats not exactly a helpful response. I've been a postie for over 5 years, so hardly a noobie.

Rotating blocks work well, completely transparent no favouritism or seniority

Why not use seniority from top and put p/ timers in with the top groups as well, go down list ok tuff crap if your near the bottom but next year you will be at the top vice versa

Only fair way is for Delivery office to keep record of those who had holiday request refused due to no spaces and for those to get first pick for the next year. Doubt that will ever happen though

Good point Clash probably needs to get in touch with the ADR or stick a grievance in asking the office to stick to national agreements

Is it a national agreement or not? Why he differences and who is doing anything about? Like most Agreements, they can be bent to suit and they are only as good as the spirit in which they are applied or adhere to by all concerned.

National Agreement on Holidays is subsumed by personal selfish interests. Why bother?
