TBH, money is money but I could not care less one way or the other. When I said it was not about the money, I meant it.

I am more concerned about my working conditions. I can always do OT if I wanted money or other jobs as a supplement.

However, I was not talking about the £300 lump sum offered to individual strike breakers but the original £300 that was supposed to be paid if there were no strikes in an office before Christmas.

If the £300 has now been subsumed into a new pay offer - then the improved pay offer will have to be a whole load more than £300 in the first year, at the very least.

It was rejected by the CWU,If a proposed agreement is rejected by either party it no longer functions as a proposed agreement.
So what does it become?
Nothing.

The original £300 was part of an offer that the union dismissed but there are so many fake £300 floating about you can never be sure which £300 anyone is on about these days.

The original offer of £300 to units that didn't strike was the only one in a pay offer and that was rejected. The £300 individual offer was never part of any offer and was thought illegal by the Union. The £300 may rear its ugly head, but I hope not because it will cost us, every bad or indifferent deal since I joined RM has had a bung attached. I wish they wouldn't do it I would rather have it as a 15p an hour rise on top of the pay offer.

There may be a £300 lump sum in the new offer or the money used to finance the lump sum may just go into financing a bigger basic pay rise.
On past experience a lump sum usually comes with a bitter pill to swallow because members will usually bite your hand off for a cash up front deal,the bigger the sum,the bitterer the pill.
If I was to take a pure guess this deal will have the lump and the pill,how big either will be is up for debate.

Now surely whatever is eventually agreed if we do not strike they must pay us £300.

Or do I think its a phantom £300 to which so many conditions will be linked that we will never get it.

Forget the £300 and give us an extra £2 a week. That's £740 extra if you do 10 years. That's what I call a result!

Well that may be ok for you whipper snappers but it wouldn't earn me much in ten years I'd be 77 You take yours weekly and I'll have mine in one go.
