Not really true. They present them in a manner that allows easy sorting, but they don't sort the mail completely, if at all.

The Direct Marketing Association, which represents the advertising mail industry and some £1billion of Royal Mail’s turnover, says the CWU strike will have a “severe” financial impact on tens of thousands of companies, charities and others.
It warned it could even lead to job cuts.

Pretty sure that's going to happen anyway. Which makes this an empty threat.
