Yes you could but it would be localised a dangerous dog, slippery path a storm warning on the met offices site is good enough for me!bringon4dayweeks wrote:you could do that every day thenk979aaa wrote:NO if YOU deem your health and safety is at risk you can terminate the delivery you need to tell them but the phone lines may be down or the mobile masts if you feel it is not safe DON'T DO IT! Brightened up what would have been a otherwise dull day.

Re: Storms on Monday
Guys, as you all know there is a hurricane outside today with winds of 80mph. Please be careful when out on delivery.. Drive carefully around the fallen trees and upside down cars currently blocking the roads from the DO to your delivery. Remember to wear your hi viz vest as this will repel the heavy objects flying through the air at 80mph towards your skull. We want to avoid all decapitations this time.
Thank you guys and good luck. Any questions please come and see me or any of the other buffoons in my office before 10am. After that we will be playing a game of Monopoly.

How old are you?ragsie76 wrote:What if you are made to go out and get injured
You cannot be made to do anything.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

You need to get together and see your H&S rep. If its clearly that bad then call a meeting on the floor with your rep and refuse to go out.
If trees are coming down don't take any risks.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Re: Storms on Monday
What I was trying to get across in my ham-fisted way in my post was at that at the time of the great storm in 1987, there wasn't the same emphasis on H&S as there is today. As for mobile masts being down the only mobile phones available at the time would have been the Motorola 'brick phone' costing £3000+, well out of the price range of a postman, in those day's you got on with it.k979aaa wrote:NO if YOU deem your health and safety is at risk you can terminate the delivery you need to tell them but the phone lines may be down or the mobile masts if you feel it is not safe DON'T DO IT! On Monday if the weather is blowing a real gail and my DOM decides it's too dodgy to go out I guess I will stay in the office but in my experience whenever we get a severe
weather warning, it usually turns into a damp squib and grossly exaggerated. The ones that usually catch you out are the ones the forecasters don't predict
On Monday I will use my common sense
"Never have I known an employee so keen to employ you, then so eager to get rid of you!"
