Probably worth mentioning there were many people in delivery offices who didn't do d2d (backshift, firms, locker, n/s etc) For most of them it was a great deal too, i'm sure most voted accordingly.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:No they didn't - 115,000 CWU members in Royal Mail. 75,000 in deliveries - we outnumber them by a factor of 2.dave0876 wrote: i am unable to strike for mail centre staff as they are the ones who voted the last pay deal in for there thirty pieces of silver, in doing so they s**t on delivery staff for which i am one and i cant find it in myself to ever forgive that. They showed the im alright jack attitude then and so i will do the same.
It really is time to move on from this though. Far more important matters in hand!

Such great points and it is true every section has won and lost things In previous deals. We got to just move on and think positive.lbunkerland wrote:Probably worth mentioning there were many people in delivery offices who didn't do d2d (backshift, firms, locker, n/s etc) For most of them it was a great deal too, i'm sure most voted accordingly.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:No they didn't - 115,000 CWU members in Royal Mail.

Re: A warning for us,,,,
I think dave? should probably be referring to those within delivery that do not actually deliver the D2Ds. He certainly got a few things wrong.
Some of us part-timers will never move on from the D2D issues. What does a delivery supplement mean when it is being paid to all and sundry. And if it is about delivery; the outdoor work is delivery and that is the same for PT and FT.
It was a shoddy dea!. Some of the allowances that were merged into the delivery supplements should just have been shelved as they were not fit for purpose and some had become irrelevant... However, where they were deserved they should have been kept.
I see a FT staff with about 450 drops on an easy round getting more than a part-timer on a round with 657 drops. Not only is the prep for the D2Ds and mail longer, the delivery of 1/6th D2Ds daily takes longer still. And yet, the FT gets more for DELIVERY SUPPLEMENT - as if they do not get paid for the hours they work along with the other pro-rata entitlements.
It ranks!

That's because the Delivery Supplement is not for doing D2D. Do you understand that?chrisj wrote:

If the Delivery Supplement was not pro rata then the p/t staff would be on a higher hourly rate than the f/t staff. How would that be fair?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: A warning for us,,,,
It should correctly be called a "Delivery Function Supplement" rather than a Delivery Supplement.
Its paid for working in the Delivery Function, not for delivering stuff. As Clash points out PT would be on a better hourly rate than FT, would that be any fairer than the current set up, remembering that if FT didn't do IPS and DBF packets PT would not have anything to deliver.
The fairest system would be everyone working the same hours, but that ship sailed a long time ago.

Re: A warning for us,,,,
So many people who don't want zero hour contracts, or franchised delivery duties, and some strike breaking for a non-existent £300, but the most worrying things is people want to go back to piece rate for D2Ds. The next logical step, perhaps, piece rate for letters and packets

Lets get one thing straight we all know the delivery supplement was a replacement for doing d2d payment end of.And anyone who says different is an idiot.Yes the delivery supplement is not payment for d2d it replaced the d2d payment meaning 90% of the time every single opg on delivery is worse off and that was the deal of the century. And i would also like to point out not one thing that was in that agreement that was beneficial for us has ever been implemented.

Our terms and conditions will be changed no matter what we do.We will have a new chief exec soon enough and they will have a vision of how they want to take the company forward and unfortunately we will have no say. There is no point in preempting what royal mail are going to do going forward.

90% of the time every single opg on delivery is worse off? Can you back that up or are you pulling statistics out of your arsehole as well?dave0876 wrote:Lets get one thing straight we all know the delivery supplement was a replacement for doing d2d payment end of.And anyone who says different is an idiot.Yes the delivery supplement is not payment for d2d it replaced the d2d payment meaning 90% of the time every single opg on delivery is worse off and that was the deal of the century. And i would also like to point out not one thing that was in that agreement that was beneficial for us has ever been implemented.
Not one thing? £1000 in Transformation lump sums. (pro rata)
1 in 4 Saturdays
Reduction in the working week (or a 2.5% pay rise for p/t staff)
