How do you think they will work Wednesday?

Post by madelin4 »

When Wednesday comes(yuck) what way i wonder will they work it, in our place on a real heavy day they say we can stream out 2nd and M/S, and take first and stamped, but on wednesday there is bound to be either a 1st or stamped for every house anyway. My prob is that even if we stream out we cud still be over our time, but we r told once we have taken the mail out with us we are not allowd to bring it back!!

umm yes you are when your duty times finish. You need to inform the line manager before you go out and make sure you have a witness.
I dont care how much mail we get Wednesday, I know Ill be working till time and thats it. The amount of work at the office doesnt bother me at all.

Tell your line manager you will be working to your time
same in our office STREAM OR CULL (leave 2nd class and m/s)
and ask him/her what time to phone them when you know
you will be going over your time even after streaming, allow yourself
enough time to return the mail back to your office(if more than 1 bag
they will have to collect the rest as you can only carry 1 bag H/S)
Happy days :nana :nana :nana :Very Happy

I am only guessing, but think Wednesday will be either a Softly Softly approach by management if they don't want to further inflame a bad situation, OR if they choose the heavy handed CONFRONTATION methods then tempers are in danger of flaring, and who know where that might lead!!!!!!!

Enough said. You can draw your own conclusions.

If they harrass me Ill see what my union rep has to say about it. Theres only so much the managers can do, I doubt theyll be heavy handed. If they are then people need to stay strong and not rise to the bait.

I don't see wednesday as a very heavy day on delivery , as the late shift in the mail centre's were 1st to go out on thursday last week and the early shift are the 1st to return on wednesday, so should be light on deliveries, unless lots of people have worked during the I/A.

In our little office here in downcast Bournemouth we have been told by an acting dum that they are getting worried as they have enough cut off's with the new pegasus deliveries so to inflame the situation is ludicrous. It is like champane bottle ready to explode here just a little nudge in the wrong direction and it will go tits up for them especially as they have been told by area dimwhitt that they are paying out too many hours in pro-del :nana :nana ,so all the saving that they made have gone out off the window. Bring on pegasus to the rest of the office I :nana :cfo :lfo :cuppa say

the last saturday i worked they let us out without doing the missorts(there were loads!) which is unheard of for us.
overheard 2 managers saying no point in causing more agro so they are aware of it.
this was before the next round of IA had been announced.
lets be honest they will be shitting it with the return of strikes and late starts.

I am a village postie and our local shop is also the SPDO, went to get a paper today and looked in the sorting room (to check there where no strike breakers...none :dance :dance ). Loads of trays of mail have been dropped into the office ready for Wednesday, don't know who by. More than 8 hrs prepin for all 3 of us so Managers will have to decide what we take. Could I prep for 4.5hrs and cut off leaving the last 30mins of delivery points without mail for yet another day?

Whatever, happens its not my problem. Finish at 2.00pm and no overtime. Fcuk em.

with regards to overtime, i say bring back the work and get a deal before you go back out. say to them "ill do it for 2 hours" if they dont make the deal let them have the headache of finding someone else who will do it for less.
Now, imagine if the whole office did this = ££££
