Personally I love getting loads of d2ds nowadays as it means they've no chance of making me absorb :)
I'll admit it was a shock to see the cut in my take home at the beginning, but it is what it is,it was pushed by the cwu and voted it in :-(

I was as hacked off as anyone about the loss of d2d payments but it's time to move on from that now. A new battle awaits and we've all got to stick together now, nobody should be wishing ill will on any of their colleagues. :no no

Moya did say in the media that Royal Mail intends to shed 40,000 jobs over the next 5 years .... make of that what you will 15,000 in the first two years
IMO we'll be relatively ok for the next 5 years with a few cuts here and there, but once profits start dropping whoever is in charge of RM will go crying to the government about fairness and the USO that can't be sustained, and Saturdays will go as a delivery day.

In one fell swoop RM get rid of 16% of staff and 16% of the running costs of DO's, saving maybe 400-500m per year when you take pensions, fuel etc into account.

The thing is, there would be no real opposition to it because nobody actually really cares about Saturday deliveries. That's my opinion anyway, it's far easier for RM to get that passed than a massive stamp rise or reduced deliveries to rural areas. There would still be a USO, just 5 days a week instead of 6.

Don't get me wrong i dont want to see anybody lose their job i wouldnt wish that on anybody but i as stated will not go on strike when mail center jobs start getting hit.Delivery staff get hit everytime in these deals and i know for a fact we cannot be hit anymore than we are already. Its about time this union stood up for delivery staff we have had enough.

There are more staff working in deliveries than in Mail Centres so you might find it was your colleagues in deliveries who voted the last deal in

You'll also find that at least a third of your colleagues will have failed to vote at all. Ultimately, they didn't care enough to vote for or against the deal.

Even the recent strike ballot had 37% of ballot papers not returned

At least a dozen Mail Centres have shut in the last ten years with a consequent reduction in jobs. I don't recall the CWU looking to take national strike action over any of those closures

Great and if you didn't get that before the deal you know where it comes from don't you? My D2D money.

I used to make an average of 30 quid a week doing d2D. Now it's less than half that and that money is going directly from me to you you bloody Mail Centre monkey. Try doing deliveries you wont be smiling so much then you smug git.

I'm down 800quid a year because of your greed.

A new (non pensionable) supplement to basic pay to all OPGs/OSGs in Mail Centres, OPGs/OSGs in Collection Hubs (who are not eligible to receive the Delivery Pay supplement) and Royal Mail CWU grades in MDECs pro rata for part-time employees. The supplement will increase in value as agreed in basic pay rises. It will flow through in 2011 and 2012. It will be paid 52 weeks a year at the rate of £8.00 per week and applies to new entrants.

It replaces the first £8.00 of any PBS/ICS residual bonus payment in the Unit. In Units where the PBS/ICS payment is greater than £8.00, the amount over £8.00 will still be paid to existing recipients. Where the existing PBS/ICS payment is less than £8.00, the shortfall is funded on an ongoing basis by using the pool of money created by the former ESOS productivity scheme.
That's an epic fail meercat.
I hope you have your apologising trousers on. :whistle
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
