Hi guys,

I've applied for a couple of the night-shift christmas casual roles here in the North-East with Angard/Royal Mail. I was offered some shifts next week and agreed to do them. I'm just wondering, what am I getting myself into? I've read mostly negative experiences from people in regards to Angard but I'm willing to give it a try at least because I can't find any other work at the moment. My understanding is that it's as basic pay as possible, no-frills, just get on with it and work to your next pay check kind of thing, is that about right?

You will probably get regular hours for the next 12 weeks. Fantastic, right? Well, once you get to 12 weeks, your pay will go up. How brilliant is that? After this, your hours will drop dramatically. You will then notice that there are many more new casuals starting. That's when you know that you've been replaced with cheap labour.

that wonderful feeling in your last week of minimum wage after working 40/50 hours thinking, s**t when I do this next wek i'll be on £12 an hour...i'm gonna be rich...only to be lucky to get 2 shifts the next week
