Re: Did Royal Mail question this result ?
comparing a Mori Opinion Poll of 1000 people commissioned by her highness as against a ballot of 115,000 royal mail staff for which there was a turnout of over 60% is also invalid.

Re: Did Royal Mail question this result ?
Who is comparing them? The strike ballot is literally valid and reflects the views of those that voted. MORI would argue that their opinion polls are statistically valid and reflect public opinion on the question(s) asked within a given margin of error. They are two different things.Lincox wrote:comparing a Mori Opinion Poll of 1000 people commissioned by her highness as against a ballot of 115,000 royal mail staff for which there was a turnout of over 60% is also invalid.

Re: Did Royal Mail question this result ?
Thanks barrow . So as I suspected given the question asked it's not surprising that a majority thought that posties should not strike.

Re: Did Royal Mail question this result ?
Not only is the question on the percentages misleading, it is also false, as years two and three are not guaranteed and are open to discussion depending on inflation rates at the time.

Re: Did Royal Mail question this result ?
BarrowC, it may be a good idea to email a copy of this Ipsos/Mori Poll text to CWU HQ. I am sure they will be able to make hay out of this.
