Ok, heres the situation my office finds ourself in. As we still have night staff working from our office (only 5 or so), and the strikes run from 3am tommorow morning onwards...our night staff have to go in tonight, and then finish their shifts. However they will then be off on Strike the following two nights. There shifts, along with walk sorting, involves the prep and a small delivery on the end
As we will be back in Wednesday morning, and our 5 night staff wont be back in, can they make the early staff take these walks out? the way I look at it is they are making us cross our night staffs picket line??
Just interested to know where we stand? can we refuse or no?

The 1st lot of strikes started at 12 in the afternoon.
Those on deliveries would of have to and did work while technically a strike was on.
Basically those whos shifts STARTED at or after 12 went on strike,so there is a cross over period.
The same will be tonight.
Those shifts that START after 3am will go on strike,so if you started at 10 or 12 you finish your shift then go on strike.
Does this make sense

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
