Amazing - I thought the £300 attempted bribe was going to scupper it !!

Moira will point out that turnout was`only` 62%... But according to my calculator only 13% of the entire workforce voted NO. Brilliant.

More people voted yes in this industrial action then voted yes to the Business Transformation Agreement ! Did Royal Mail argue that the BT Agreement was not supported !!

In an industrial action ballot if members had serious reservations and couldn't bring themselves to vote yes I would much rather that they didn't vote at all.
Democracy is wonderful but when you're looking for a solid yes vote it can be overrated.

At the same time as announcing a 24 hour strike, the CWU today has announced they will carry out a second ballot asking workers to support action less than strike action, to carry out a boycott of competitors' mail.

Dave Ward added: "On top of a strike, the union will seek a mandate from members to carry out the boycott of competitors' mail. In law, this needs a separate ballot and we will commence the procedures for this at the earliest opportunity. The boycott will be used to supplement strike action. Royal Mail needs to reach an agreement with us now and avoid the consequences of these two types of action from postal workers."
