Is that a series of domestic issues or a serious domestic issue? I'm not sure I understand that, if it was an individuals domestic issuePOSTMAN wrote:From a DIV rep on Facebook...
For the record due to a serious domestic issues there were no national talks last week so there is no settlement. We will get a big yes vote Wednesday and a better deal either before or after a strike !
There are still fundamental differences !

Re: ballot result
The following is revealed caused it is important that people stop spreading untruths.
Some of you may know that sadly Dave wards wife has suffered from that terrible disease called cancer over the last few years and it was hoped she had beat it. Sadly it would seem it has come back and she was in hospital last week hence no talks.
Dvbuk yes there is a negotiating team but as you would know from the amount of stick Dave gets on here and Facebook the buck stops with him. Talks will resume next week but the real moves will be made following our yes vote.
Hopefully the information I have revealed will not be used as some warped discussion but will be taken as what it is intended to keep you updated.
Reps who are spreading wrongful information are clearly looking for a way out. This dispute is the most important ever and won't be resolved in my opinion without a strike.

Re: ballot result
If the company gave us an extra £600 a year people would only moan on here. That in real terms is what £100 million is worth before tax. Personally I would say thank you.. Family is your main priority Dave hope your wife makes a full recovery.meweavy wrote:Royal mail chiefs said they made £400 million profit just before they announced privatisation.adamanti wrote:Always negative. Maybe our Ts and Cs will improve,,,,,,,,,,,,, RM made 400 million+ profits in the last year and if this was to improve to say 500 million+ i'm sure the company would reward it's workforce and not just the executives!!!!
Convenient, would the profit be so high if it wasn't being privatised?

Re: ballot result
Thanks for the info Dingo,
Best wishes for Dave Wards wife for a full recovery ,
Lets hope for a significant Yes Vote , though the morons in my office have been chanting the union dont do anything for us,
why should I go out on strike, and the others chatting about the shares they bought .
Glad I have a week off

I'm truly sorry that Dave Wards wife has cancer and that once beaten can beat it again. I don't expect any movement by RM until IA takes place then they'll realise we are serious. Any Rep who is not 100% behind the strike action should be ashamed of themselves.dingo wrote:The following is revealed caused it is important that people stop spreading untruths.

I have to agree with this Statement. I don't know what the Union are up to. :(dvbuk55 wrote:I have no idea why there is an insistence that there be a time limit set on terms and conditions, no one in this land has a cast iron guarantee that any business structure will survive long enough to ensure T and Cs will not be changed over a given period - 3 years in my mind is not sustainable let alone 5, 7 or 10. Providing that no changes would take place without agreement, which can only be discussed when the circumstances are known.
Pay and Pensions are the two factors which need to be agreed.

Re: ballot result
Rolling strikes by function create the most havoc for the business while costing the members the least amount of money in lost wages.
I don't think the CWU believe an all out strike is sustainable and there is nothing worse than having to return to work with your tail between your legs.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

While sometimes I have had a go at our union sometimes unity is more than a workplace I wish Dave and his wife all the best.

Assuming it's a yes vote, I'd expect a strike to be announced no later than Friday.
Though, probably before, I mean, why wait?
Unless RM and the CWU enter into new talks with the result in mind.....
Sometimes, I wish I wasn't a Rep.
