so if people realise what the implications are expect shares not to be up much by start of official trading.

have you got the balls and morals to ignore the shares for your terms and conditions?

The shares arent related to T & C's

WHY have imposed the 3yr clause?
We all need to be vigilant, and if we see others being singled out for 'special managerial treatment'

You know it makes sense Rodney, you Plonka! :left:
SIPs are entrenched in law. There is nothing sinister about the 3 year clause... proper info is better than negative rumours - see below

You are right on! Our boss (Moya) has put in for a massive amount of shares.

they are not like colleague shares and whatever the value after 2 or 5 year, we would have received dividends (like a bonus really) and afterall, they are FREE.

Some people did not even want the government to give us free shares and it is a sort of expensive bribe at the expense of the rest of the public.

Can I just say this for the record, I have never had any real issues with any of my managers. My biggest bugbears are with my colleagues.

Secondly, uneasy lie the head that wears the crown. This is a business and management have to do what management does. I have seen good natured managers get walked all over by posties and then their superiors... Managers even get more bullied than we do.

It is not always the manager's fault but the bosses at the very top who comes up with birdbrain ideas and who wants to maximise profits for their bonuses and status.

With RM, we cannot simply be sacked for no good reasons - we are not at that stage yet, not in this country and not with big employers like RM or other quasi-govt institutions. Of course, people might find out that they might be able to get away with less and that disciplinary and absence procedures might get tougher But then, this is your job and livelihood so you better take it seriously, so your job properly and watch yourself. Personally, I do that anyway! (I do not take the p***!)

What exactly are you talking about?

I have not told you anything about what happen in your world...

I have told you what happen in my world. I do work for RM just like you. I do not have problems with my managers - you do not have to believe that.

As to not having a clue. About what?

I can see that you clearly did not have a clue about SIPs - and you can go and read about it. It is not patronising. I will not longer reply to your personal threads - no worries!

So we will get £2000 in shares maybe 606 more or less, few opted out some put in for more, but one thing will not change is their value at any given moment this is what a stock market is all about. So some say we are all quid's in I don't buy that we are in a fund (SIP's) some who bought more can sell them soon they may well be for now and soon after the flotation but who can guarantee it NO ONE that is what a market is about. We can influence the value of this company now as never before I think it is time for action for our own investment in our futures as never before!

if you are made redundant or get ihr in the 3 years before they are due to be repaid you lose them. and rm expect to pay off thousands in that time so millions in share payouts will not be paid. aye, canny that like......cunse :mad

I think the examples you've given Davey, are or would be classed as good leavers, ihr or redundancy, I may be wrong though

No you don't. Vince Cable confirmed IHR and Redundancies will keep the share entitlement in an evidence session in parliament yesterday, and the SIP regulations confirm it along with other groups such as TUPE affected colleagues.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
