Hi,
can anyone help me here...
I have been on the sick since last saturday 5/10/13 and my manager rang today asking me when id be back in, I said this monday 14/10/13. He then said I would need a sick note as it is classed as more than 7 days absence.
is this right? Do thy include sunday and my day off which is friday?

Make sure you call your office tomorrow or Saturday latest and inform them you will be resuming Monday, you have 7days self cert, I think that's correct...I'm sure others will correct me if I'm wrong...good luckmlay123 wrote:Hi,

Its a joke , but yes, they include Sunday's , days off, bank holidays etc etc.

And if I dont go back in on saturday and dont bring a sick note on monday? ....

Unfortunately that is the system.
If you don't provide a sick note - worst case scenario they treat it as an unauthorised absence.
Just go and tell the receptionist at the doctor what the problem is and I'm sure they will help you out.

Im in a pickle, I havent seen my gp this week, I rang him this morning for a fit note but because I have recently moved house and not in that area he wont speak to me, I have registered to my local doctors but they cant see me until tuesday nxt week, I am due in work monday bit I dont have a sick note that the manager is asking for.micksurrey wrote:The whole week, just go to or phone the doctor.

Sick notes can be back dated, Get it Tues and give to them on Weds.
