I don't think anyone with money to buy extra shares is or will be hard up, I've bought mine and am looking forward to a tidy profit in the medium term.

Certain red braces wearing city boys are predicting a high of around £4.15 on the opening day which might value your shares at as much as around £2,700 but it will just be phantom money again to the majority of us since we can't touch them until october 2016 at the earliest and october 2018 if you don't want to pay tax.

Any prediction on their value then anyone?

As ours will be valued on the price after the first day of trading, and assuming they launch at the upper price of £3.30 (which seems very likely) then I am hazarding a guess that they will be worth £2,400-£2,600 when allocated to us.

If you sell them after 3 years you only pay tax on the lower amount of the values when they were allocated or when you sell. So if you get 2.5k worth and sell at 3.5k you only pay tax on the lower amount.

Of course you'll still get muppets on here claiming they'll disappear like colleague shares, unable to tell the difference between actual shares on the stock market and a phantom share scheme. Funny how so many are claiming they're worthless but haven't turned them down eh?

They owe us all big time fella one way or the other we are going to get something out of this your either with us or not. Never been a fan of the free market so free we need to pay more for stamps so we can guarantee deposits for first time buyers and help the banks and create the problem we had five years ago. Yet destroy a postal system that has run for 160 years on it's own money!

Well they would be but you cannot touch them for five years without paying tax and three years if you do. If you could sell them on Friday the 11th or even next week you would make a killing as they say but you cannot even if you bought an extra allocation you may well not be able to sell for a week or two beyond that! And the strikes will be in motion then and your return may not yield the investment you hoped for shares can go up and down!

i think this is the reason its been undervalued by the government, to compensate for the share price drop that will probably occur if/when we strike. sneeky bastards have it all planned out.

It said so much in the prospectus what it did not tell you was the value of the real estate and the future of the business as a viable investment for the future.

By the time the three years is up expect to see the value drop through the floor. The markets will know a shed load of RM employees will be waiting to offload them and will be offloading them themselves before we get the chance. That's of course if we still own them and they don't magically vanish like our RM shares tend to do! Either way don't plan your retirement on them and don't expect them to make up for the shortfall in your pensions should this strike action fail and RM get thier way!
