Wave of rolling strikes plotted! - Telegraph

Post by stephen500 »

''The new style of strikes, set to begin on October 15, will see Royal Mail staff take turns to walk out. Industrial relations experts say the planned actions are the most ambitious long-term walkout programme since the miners' strike of the 1980s.''

One CWU official said: "The total walkout this week and next will mean our members have lost four days of pay in a week.''
"These rolling, functional strikes are more flexible for our members — and they would be indefinite. It will be quite impossible to deliver the normal amount of mail and clearly it will be very difficult to deal with the backlog created during the current action."

The rolling walkouts would not end until an agreement with Royal Mail's management was reached, he said.''
