Work Place Coaches.
Welcome to the future
Work Place Coaches are not managers, nor supervisors, and therefore have zero authority over me.
They are for training purposes only, nothing more.
Yes, at the moment but I believe UnG is correct. I think that there is currently a recruitment drive for 1 coach per 20 OPGs whose responsibilities will be far wider than at present - even RTW interviews have been mooted, working the line and out on delivery - personally I don't think that once this IA is over with they'll have any problem recruiting either.
If true, and I have predicted something on these lines, then these will form the new 'Team leaders' that will replace the managers who will end up out of a job.
Same responsibilities, less money, and a walk to do too.

There are hundreds of staff at my place and they cannot work unsupervised - H&S etc, so I would like to see separate days to maximise the impact.
Especially as most managers are PIC's, Fire wardens etc. etc.
In fact, it would probably be illegal for the company to allow us onsite in absence of the managers.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Oh I don't know it doesn't seem to matter after 9 o'clock on a Saturday

Most offices would probably run a lot smoother without 'management' interference!
Too bleeding right! In fact ours did, we had a Manager that would sleep in the office, let us get on with it, and we did!
If this was the scenario, and it's a big if, you would have to cross their picket line.

No worries ......... it won't happen in a month of Sundays

the slap in the face if the impossible was to happen would be that they would be on £30 a day strike money from Unite?

They could give them 3k a day, if it helps those worms to find a back bone and Strike, it will only be to our advantage, won't it?

You've got more chance of seeing Margaret Thatcher, Lord Lucan and Shergar on a picket line.
Shambles wrote:Industrial Action – It is very likely that our colleagues in the CWU will get a clear and unequivocal mandate for strike action in their ballot. Unite will support any and all trade unions who are engaged in a legitimate trade dispute with their employer, as we would expect them to support Unite, and we will be urging our members not to undertake the work and responsibilities of those who are on strike. We will be encouraging members to work normally and will support any member who is bullied , threatened or intimidated in to doing other work. There is no place in the workplace for provocation and we will not stand by and let it happen.
Now the worms are turning!!!!
I quote'We will be urging our members not to undertake the work and responsibilities of those on strike' having laugh aren't they everytime a previous industrial dispute as arisen involving CWU members managers have risen to the task and performed many tasks such as delivering special deliveries, box collections, driving artics etc probably find many managers nowadays especially the large recruitment of graduates are non members of the unite(CMA)
The managers will do as they are told, there are 'some' decent managers out there and they are easily pressured as their union is so piss poor. A bit like ours really.
