all out and within a week the trickle of posties turning up for work will turn into a stream of posties turning up for work because nowadays the majority own their own homes with mortgages and credit cards to pay and the strike would be over after 2 weeks with a shattered union and workforce

They`ll have to announce by tomorrow if they want rolling strikes to commence on the 15th. They must do this, hit the ground running any delay gives RM more time to clear backlog.[/b]

IMOP ROYAL MAIL WILL USE THIS AGAINST US, THEY HAVE AND WILL CONTINUE TO USE EX/ACTION TO BRING IN ALL OF THEIR NEW WAYS OF WORKING, SO WHAT ARE YOU GUYS GOING TO DO TO STOP THIS,

they may be able to use exec action, but surely the CWU can instruct member to refuse to comply with any changes they deem unfit to our working practice...they cant sack 130,000 people

rolling strikes are the only practical solution for most people nowadays.ALL out though i love the idea would kill most people !!!

I am determined to carry on as long as it it financially ok to do!!!

Because they feel you will lose more money.

There is no defence to an employer bringing in changes to your employment other than all out strike. That's not likely to happen. There is probably going to be a prolonged action with a gradual drift back followed by a series of wildcat strikes in the more militant areas. We may not even get the 2.5%. As for not being able to sack everyone, that is true in a sense, but how would it be if they sent you a new contract that had to be signed by a certain date or your employment would be terminated without recompense?

Rolling strikes for me, yes you lose 20% wages , but lose this dispute and we lose more than 20% so you might as well get used to it.
RM are terrified of rolling action simply because it is in theory far more sustainable than all out : it costs them wages for ultimately near zero productivity [bit like having a workforce composed entirely of managers]. Look at the lenghts they are going to in attempts to provoke unofficial action and all out , this is not accidental. So far we have acted in a disciplined, organised manner with great resolve, if we maintain this they cannot beat us.

I realise the reasons for this strike action but it appears after the last strike action that it didnt really get us anywhere, except out of pocket & heavier work loads... ... there are alot of mixed feelings about this strike at my office and what it is going to achieve. its all quite a scarey prospect for me both financially & the outcome of our jobs.
we have been told not to book ovrtime yet if i do the job as it is meant to be done i.e. going out in the van i will have to book overtime. already i work upto my time aalmost going out in the car.
also we were told that wednesday,thursday,friday we are to stop delivering at 12o'clock, is this still to happen & is everybody doing this???

we had a union meeting last tuesday & they told us to!!??

not sure i want to be doing this if its not official!! i dont actually know what the mood is in my office at the moment i have been on holiday for the last week.

i know my postie who delivers to my home is going into work through the strikes, i am sure one of many around the country,how is this going to help us?
although each one of us is going to miss the money but if people are going in we are going to get NOWHERE striking???
