£440 A Week...Not in my office

Post by P739 »

Unbelievable article

But the £440 a week average pay is 25 per cent more than equivalent jobs in private delivery firms and more than a newly qualified teacher.

The problem is that if the Royal Mail does not bring in more efficient sorting equipment and make changes to its outdated working practices, it does not stand a hope of competing with private sector rivals who cherry pick the best business. So far Gordon Brown has been reluctant to inflame matters, but now his election is on hold it is time to for the Royal Mail's owner to throw his weight around - to "go postal" as the Americans would say. UTTER LIES from :lfo

As part of any strike deal we should demand that :lfo and :cfo be sacked for gross negligence and misconduct.

I do a 30HR week for about £193 take home a week.
Modernisation is going to happen, C.W.U. are, to quote Billy "UP FOR IT". But not at the expence of downgrading what could still be the best postal service in the world. And not at the expence of cutting the future earnings, pensions and job prospects of the workforce that make this the best postal service in the world
