dont know why i posted that!! what i was doing was reading it because at our D.O we have been told our later start times will come in effect in august!! i told the guy who told me that they cant do this as this is one of the things we are fighting aginst and he said it is too late its been done! oh im dreading going back on monday . glad i fly off to turkey for a few weeks in 2 weks time!

A message from Dave Ward, DGS (Postal)

Dear Colleagues,

The Postal Executive met yesterday and unanimously rejected Royal Mail's
latest full and final offer.

As previously stated the only change in the latest offer is the removal
of the door to door string.

We have written to Royal Mail formally rejecting the offer, stating that
we are willing to meet them at anytime.

The truth is even if Royal Mail removes all strings attached to their
current offer they will continue to make attack after attack on our
members' jobs. The only way to stop this happening is a national
agreement that deals with the key issue of Royal Mail's Business Plan as
well as pay.

Royal Mail's plan has at its core the belief that our members are 25%
overpaid and 40% under worked. Their Plan amounts to cuts in jobs, cuts
in pay and cuts in the service. This is not the way to deal with
competition.

Royal Mail is determined to carry on regardless and we have no
alternative but to press ahead with our industrial action ballot.
Ballot papers will be despatched on the 22nd May.

A yes vote is fundamental to securing our objective and protecting our
members' future.

Further communications will be sent out in due course.

The Postal Executive has formally agreed to table a fresh offer that will give Royal Mail the opportunity to back off from a dispute.

The centre piece of our proposal tackles the key issue that will determine our members’ future – the Royal Mail Business Plan.

Even if Royal Mail removes all strings attached to the current pay offer, CWU members will face attack after attack on their terms and conditions, unless we secure a National Agreement that deals with Royal Mail’s Business Plan.

Royal Mail’s belief that our members are 25% overpaid and 40% under worked is at the core of their Business Plan. They will drive through major change at every local office - unless the CWU membership stand together as a National Union.

Royal Mail Tactics

Royal Mail’s aggressive behaviour in the workplace is an act of desperation. The briefs prepared by Royal Mail’s senior leaders are all about bullying and harassing the workforce into believing that there is no alternative to their Business Plan. We have been inundated with emails, letters and phone calls from every single area of the country complaining about Royal Mail’s undemocratic behaviour.

I have written to Adam Crozier, offering him a public debate with every single manager and every single CWU Representative. Mr Crozier has declined.

A further communication has been sent to members’ home addresses

our brief today,up to 5 lots of d2d get paid for three of them,
option 1 lump sum
option 2 2.5per cent plus lump sum up to 600 quid,no lower level mentioned,starting times move up 1 hour,covering walks binned because our office is close to the bone on hours,bet that gets changed if we agree,small hints to vote for this from gaffer he even smiled

had to laugh at the smiles on some of the faces around me,need to get some off them to wake up and get on the site,only two of us from my office on hear so far

We are lucky on my patch with 2000 new delivery points being built to me the issue i expect is how many hours will we get for the 2000 stops and the FT/PT RATIO.

Then we have a firms del that gets done about 12ish rather than the RM criteria of 9am really need to be 2 PT dels to have any hope of 9am. If RM are serious about seeing off rivals then they will take me seriously about the firms duty especially as new industrial units are still being built.

The case for hours in is very strong at RM st neots

HI ALL IV HEARD THAT THERE MIGHT BE A DEAL STRUCK BETWEEN THE UNION AND R/M TODAY.
DEAL: 2.5% PAY DEAL FOR SIX MONTHS AND ON GOING NEGOTIATIONS TO STRIKE A DEAL

I myself have not heard anything but so long as no strings are attached such as late starts and 6 into 5 walks and D2ds and any other thing they are trying to slip in it might be ok but will have to think about it for a while.

Right I have had a think about it and could this be a ploy by RM - ie adding all the strings knowing it would get our backs up, then removing them 1 by 1 so we think we have won and would then meekly accept a 2.5% pay rise instead of a cost of living one .

Or am I just paranoid -
