Edinburgh MC

Post by dm-flamingo »

Hi there, here is a topic for people hoping to work at the EMC this year as a casual. I know they employ over 1000 people here at Christmas, but I applied on 2nd of September and still have "application received".

Has anyone been offered an interview for here yet? I know the registration event took place around 15th October last year, but it is getting close to tht date and I haven't heard anything from RM.

Congrats on at least getting that far! I worked there last year, applied as soon as it was announced, yet I'm still stuck on application received. Gonna give them a ring.

Grizzle, did you apply through Angard?

Just phoned up "We are unable to disclose details about individual applications bla bla bla..." So what am I supposed to do now? Sit and watch whilst others book interview slots? :arrrghhh

Strange process they are using. They sent out postcard reminders for us to apply, yet don't seem to be taking much notice.

When did you apply this year?

I was the same mate, started on 16tg November which was the earliest start date. Strange that you can still apply too, thought it would have been closed by now?

Yeah something not right there. You could try the helpline but I didn't find them very useful or friendly at all.

Thing I don't get: you receive two postcards through out the year reminding you to apply and that they look forward to seeing you again next Christmas, I was one of the casuals short listed for an extension beyond January, yet iv been left in the dark.

Out of the blue I received a text from Royal Mail asking me to book an interview slot for 9th October at Stevenson college. Full list of times to pick from, so i'd check just now and you might be lucky.
