TNT Post to create over 1000 new jobs in Greater Manchester

extract:- 'The nature of the job roles on offer varies from Posties to back office support. The flexible nature of the work makes the jobs ideal for local residents, including women returning to work, second jobbers, those balancing childcare commitments and school/college leavers.
The new delivery service will operate alongside the traditional Royal Mail postman but the TNT Post Postie will complete their deliveries using bicycles. In addition, for the first time every letter is scanned, with a track and trace service, which will help provide a high quality of customer service.
TNT Post has had dedicated operations in the North West for many years and has a distribution and sorting centre in Warrington where the sorting of mail for the new service will take place.
Nick Wells, CEO TNT Post said:
“We are passionate about creating new job opportunities for the people of Greater Manchester and delighted to make this announcement. The postal industry is undergoing great change and I am proud that TNT Post is able to create new jobs for people who need them and also to provide career opportunities for those who want to progress in a growing company.
“We are a dynamic company with motivated people working to provide great customer service. Our commitment to training and development will not only benefit TNT Post employees, but also the wider business community as our Posties progress their career with us or look for new opportunities within other businesses.”
Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne MP said: ''I am delighted that TNT Post are announcing the creation of 1000 jobs here in Manchester now and 20,000 jobs across the UK over the next 5 years. Today's news is great for Manchester, and offers real opportunities for young people looking for work and the long term unemployed in this area. It is a vote of confidence in Britain.'

So TNT will employ people out of work for two years on benefits all makes sense now. Our terms and conditions will be no better than those on state benefits as a privatised company Royal Mail will say we cannot compete with TNT who get slave labour for free.apple wrote:was wondering why they showed osbourne on the news in a TNT depot

So the poor sods have to travel from Warrington where their depot is, by cycle, to deliver around MCR!
!
Also, all mail to be delivered is to be track & trace? Either wont be delivering much mail then!, or will have 10 hr deliveries then! No use for students, mums, those with childcare provisions, second jobbers, et
c then, as advertised!

This nasty, brutish, callous, unbelievably stupid government, should be brought before the European court of Human Rights.k979aaa wrote:So TNT will employ people out of work for two years on benefits all makes sense now. If there is work to be done, then employ the unemployed, don't enslave them.

Minimum wage, zero hours "jobs". And they've got the cheek to use the term "postie".

Well did you all see TNT are challenging Royal Mail on their VAT exemption which a court will decide on November 26 if a court finds in TNT favour more big city's would be in the same boat as London and Manchester!
