Whether they can actually do anything about it is another matter. Perhaps some of them might sign an online petition or write to their MPs. But I think most people realise that nothing they can do is going to prevent the Government pushing this through. They will just moan later on like they do about the railways and gas prices. Too late then.
The public have much higher prices and far worse services already under Moya as a precursor to privatisation.
Yes they accept that that's the way it will continue to go.
I don't know where some of the polls stats are compiled, certainly not by my customers. Perhaps on some juniors desk over a fag and and a plastic cupped coffee? ;liar
Everyone is equal in Royal Mail, but some are more equal than others!

I'm sure you are right that your 'customers' (?) are far more representative of the public as a whole - I guess they are a perfect cross section of society and you take a scientifically chosen sample of their views.
Obviously too, all the professional polling organisations which are paid for their services just employ a junior to make up figures.

Joe public is hopeless, they'll do nothing then just complain a lot after we've been privatised because it's got worse....

I still get people asking me "is this the second post?" when they see me delivering :arrrghhh

.. but what are they thinking about today ??? Ed Milliband says "Freeze energy prices for 20 months" and we are promptly told of "possible blackouts" by one arm of the 'privatised energy cartel' ...

Hey ho Network Rail (privatised by any other name) still get whacking subsidies from the Government ... and come the day when there are three/four posties all in different colours walking up the public's path (but not necessarily 6 days a week) ...

Yes it's time for people to get real - see what's there now and think what's coming next ...
"We're under model" - oh no we're not - stick your lapse elsewhere ...

A fair portion of the public don't want it privatised but the majority are so apathetic that you've got no chance of getting them to do anything. The entire country is weak and with a selfish in it for myself greedy attitude. A lot of people moan but f**k all gets done.

Considering that letters are declining and most letters are 'junk' or bills I really don't think the public would be that bothered if the service was cut back or made worse. The rural/remote might complain but they are a minority and so get ignored, which is crap but that's the way it is.
Parcels on the other hand; a bewildering choice of companies with various levels of service, even RM is offering collect from PO service now, more collect points = more convenience for the customer = less work for us. It's a dog eat dog world out there.

As for who is customer; I thought once an item was posted it became the property of the recipient? The recipient might have paid for the postage (directly or indirectly) anyway, as far as I'm concerned they are both 'customers'.

Door stepped idea could work, if we all tape up our post boxes, and ask all of our family members/friends to do the same in support?
