Sounds like RM are making empty threats out of desperation again.
Good to see the pressure from staff is showing :Applause

RM for imposing this condition.
Or harsh by any of your colleagues for striking & denying rest of office of £300.
I mean Royal Mail are being harsh for withdrawing the £300 from any staff - it seems unfair pressure to prevent a strike. Any striking staff could face hostility from their colleagues for losing them the £300 payment.

My personal view of striking is that if the majority of union members vote for a strike then I respect the majority decision and go on strike. That seems to be the whole point of a union!
Its clearly a bribe to stop people striking, and for those non strikers to pressure the potential strikers to work. In theory its a good idea, in reality its a smokescreen. They wont pay out 1 penny, as people will strike, simple, not everyone, but the majority and id be amazed if even 1 office got this. Apart from the isleof mull who have 1 postman at the office :left:

Our dom actually told a few people at our place that its individual. Good job I know what I know, as people fall for this time and time again.
If there's only one postman serving the 2,800 population scattered across the 338 square miles of Mull then he'll be that overworked that he's sure to join the strike. :Very Happy
Seriously though, how do they define 'office', like if there's not only a town Delivery Office with a hundred staff, most of whom are on strike, but also half a dozen SPDOs some of which continue working ?
Sorry, im a bit off course there. A guy who worked at our place transferred to Mull, and he said it was on an island, and he was the only guy there and he did the full island, his office was in the back of the post office shop. He went there for a holiday, enjoyed it, took the guys job, moved there, no one would speak to him as they all knew the old postie whos job he`d taken, 6 months later he came back to our office as a PT guy, lost thousands, went nuts, ended up in a menatl institute, true story
But there are FIVE SPDOs on Mull, not just one.
So was he was at Craignure ( PA62 to PA65 )
or Bunessan ( PA66 to PA70 )
or Aros ( PA71 to PA74 )
or Tobermoray ( PA75 )
or Dervaig ( also PA75 ) ?
And, on average, that's a Postcode District for each 200 residents :Very Happy whereas Postcode Districts in urban areas can have over 20,000.

We're asked "SPDOs can only work if the mail arrives from the main DO ... at least up our way ... so theoretically SPDO staff can turn up for work - and if there's no mail - what happens next ??" and the answer is that the SPDO strike breakers turn up for work, have nothing to deliver, go home within an hour and get paid for a full day  and if "A manager brings it" or brings some of it they just work as normal, lose no pay and later accrue all the benefits gained by the strikers town Delivery Offices. That's happened before and it'll happen again.
But, hypothetically, IF a £300 bonus wasn't paid to offices where at least one person had been on strike, would such a strike-breaking SPDO be included in with the town Office or would it be considered separately and be paid the bonus ?

The £300 was part of a pay deal thats already been rejected so it makes no difference. Could be £300 or £300,000,00 for all it matters.
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next
