CROYDON MAIL CENTRE

Post by syed127157 »

Hi there,

Has anyone worked in Croydon Mail Centre before?

I was wondering what you do, how many hours they let you work and what the pay is like for an 18 year old?

Also I have an interview next Wednesday what sort of questions do they ask? I was asked to bring all the documents.

I would like to work atleast 5 days a week because I am unemployed at the moment do you think they will let me?

They check the details that they have requested you to provide. If you have all the information and it is complete they:

take your photos off you
ask which shift you want to do
tell you your pay rate
get you to sign a contract

I worked at Croydon three out of the last four years, though last year I was in the outhouse building rather than the main mail centre.

At a guess anything from 2 to 6 weeks and 20 to 50 hours(possibly more) - it is so variable. Very much dependent upon the needs of the business, how many casuals stay the whole process, whether they need casuals earlier or later than normal.

On all three stints I applied for early shift and was doing 6am-2pm five days a week, I got two and a half to three weeks work, generally starting second week of December, anywhere around the 6th, 7th or 8th depending on how the calendar falls.
